The book of Life

Years feel like months, months feel like weeks and weeks feel like days. Everything is happening so fast and now we are in this phase of our life. Life transitions can be exciting and agitating for some but can also be terrifying and draining to others. The stories that we carry have their different piquancy caused by divergent perspectives and circumstances.

Life transitions happen drastically but it is inevitable because whether we like it or not, every season of our lives passes through.

Nothing is permanent.

We don’t get stuck in a season. We have to welcome another one and embraced it by seeing the better light behind it rather than contemplating on what could’ve happen or what could we have accomplished in the preceding season.

Time is passing by so fast. It feels like yesterday we were just an easy-going teenager worrying nothing but scores on her quizzes, playfully teasing with large circle of friends, falling in love with someone whom we found inspiration with and going home late to play and spend time with our people. Those were the moments we wanted to remain but unfortunately, we can’t and no one will.

Right now, we worry about a bunch of undertakings that we never imagined we’d worry about.

At the present time, having a small circle of friends doesn’t affect us as much as how it used to. Being with real people who genuinely cares about you is what matters because quality is greater than quantity.

We should be with people who can laugh with us during our happy moments, cry with us in our darkest times, celebrate with us through our wins and stick with us every season that we go through.

Losing connections with people who have been with us is not a bad thing. Maybe there meant to stay with us temporarily to teach and prepare us for what’s coming. They say people appear in our life either to be a lesson or a blessing which is true because if their part or their purpose has already been accomplished, staying with us can be vexing.

Don’t close the doors and let them exit in your life so that other people can enter.

No matter how dark it gets, people carrying their light will come to your rescue.

They say transition happens at sixteen but some of us might be past that age and still trying to figure it out. Some of us might still be at the page where we feel like we’re being left behind witnessing the people around us getting closer to their dreams each day. Questions like, “Why can’t I keep up?” or “Is it the time that’s being unfair flowing so fast or is it me being slow in progress?” resurface.

Pressure and worries come rushing through in our mind like a flirt trying to breakthrough. But instead of treating it like a burden, why don’t we consider it as an opportunity? Let us recall the days where we silently fought our battles, the struggles that we triumphantly went through, the obstacles we conquered and the sufferings we have assiduously endured. This way, it becomes lighter.

We are in a better place right now and whatever we are withstanding, there are highlights ahead waiting for us to proclaim them.

“Don’t give up too much while you are still young because later on, it will become a bad habit.” This is actually true. It’s not a crime to enjoy and waste some of our time because life can still be enjoyable no matter how tiresome it is.

Let’s not just focus on accomplishing our goals but rather on who are we becoming each day. The confidence that we carry, we shouldn’t throw them away and keep it firmer as we continue to persevere with our faith.

High expectations? Letting other's comments define us is just so erroneous because we are the writers of our own story. We are not living to please them. The only person you should be pleasing is yourself.

Live is short. We don't know what tomorrow holds so spend every day as if it's your last.
