Greetings to everyone in this beautiful community, long time no visit, but never absent 😅 this time I come to tell you about a scare I received as a result of a fall that my son Mathias had.

For those who have not read about Mathias, my only son, you have Autism Spectrum Disorder, as many know one of the many characteristics of this condition is hyposensitivity, ie have high tolerance to pain, therefore, with him I must be very aware of any blow that is given, because when hurt does not cry, unless the blow is very strong, which in this case was the case.

That day (two weeks ago) Mathias did not have classes and stayed at home with my mom and me, however I had to leave for a moment to pick up my daughters for school, when I had already picked up the twins, on my way to my oldest daughter's school I received a call from my mom saying that Mathias had fallen and was crying, he speaks very little, but said that his arm was hurting.

When my mom told me that she was crying I got a little worried, however I told her that I was looking for my oldest daughter quickly and I was going home, from there it was about 10 minutes, I called my mom back 3 times and she did not answer me, at this point I started to worry, from where I was to my house it was about 10 minutes, so I had to speed up to get home and see what was going on.

We arrived!!!! Indeed my son was still crying inconsolably, at that moment I got more worried, but I had to keep calm, I hugged him to calm him down (it is a technique I use and it works with him) and I started to ask him what happened to him, he only told me that he was in pain and grabbed his left arm with his right hand, at that moment I did not think twice to put his shoes on and go to a medical center.

The first thing I did was to take him to the pediatric emergency because apart from the arm he had a strong blow on his forehead and it was very purple, I explained to the doctor about his condition and she told me that it was an emergency, but that there they could only take an x-ray of his arm and skull, since there was no traumatologist, so with those x-rays I had to take him to the hospital, so I did.

When I arrived at the hospital, there was a pediatrician on duty at that time (something that almost never happens) they saw him and immediately called a traumatologist, when the doctor checked the x-ray, he explained to me that there was a fracture in the wrist called "Bamboo Impeller" and that I had to put a cast on it.

Of course I had to buy the implements to place everything, at that moment I was alone with him and he was really very upset, between the pain he was in, the waiting and the hunger, at that moment his character was not easy at all....

When it was time to place the cast he was calm, he really cooperated a lot and I must say that the doctor was very kind with him and had a lot of patience.

For now we have to wait, the cast is for 4 weeks, to take the x-ray again and see how the bone is evolving, I hope that everything will be better by then.
