Огірки - чудовий продукт. Любимо їх і свіжими, коли тільки зірвеш із стебла, і соленими, і маринованими. Але для того, щоб рослинки не хворіли і довго радували своїми плодами, потрібен хороший догляд. Ця рослина любить багато вологи, тому потребує постійного поливу. Але, разом з тим, мокрий грунт під стеблами здатен принадити масу шкідників і хвороботворних бактерій. Тому ідеальний для огірка - крапельний полив.
В наших умовах я використовую щось подібне, але зроблене з підручних матеріалів: пластикових великих пляшок. Цей метод мені показав пару років тому наш зять. Я була вражена тим, як довго плодоносять огірки, не засихають і ростуть аж до вересня.
Все дуже просто. У дні пляшки я роблю два отвори звичайним невеликим цвяхом, і ще два отвори - на різній висоті з боків. Пляшки закопую з розрахунку, щоб корені рослин навколо кожної змогли дістатися до вологи. Через фільтр заливаю у пляшки воду і закриваю щільно кришкою. Вода починає повільно просочуватися у грунт, і це видно по бульбашках, що піднімаються від дна.

But in order for the plants not to get sick and enjoy their fruits for a long time, you need good care. This plant loves a lot of moisture, so it needs constant watering. But, at the same time, the wet soil under the stems can attract a lot of pests and pathogenic bacteria. Therefore, drip irrigation is ideal for cucumbers.
In our conditions, I use something similar, but made of improvised materials: large plastic bottles. Our son-in-law showed me this method a couple of years ago. I was amazed at how long the cucumbers bear fruit, do not dry out and grow until September.
Everything is very simple. At the bottom of the bottle I make two holes with an ordinary small nail, and two more holes - at different heights on the sides. I bury the bottles so that the roots of the plants around each can get to the moisture. Through the filter, pour water into bottles and close tightly with a lid. Water begins to slowly seep into the soil, and this can be seen in the bubbles rising from the bottom.
Огіркам властиво плестися по різноманітних опорах, адже стебло має вусики, щоб чіплятися. Тому їм комфортно рости під спеціальною сіткою, а не лежати на землі. Крім того, так і плоди залишаються чистими і їх легше мити. Такі сітки у нас вже готові.
Залишається вчасно поливати і прополювати грядки, а там - тільки встигай збирати та закривати в банки!
