Попри важкі воєнні умови український президент оголосив про старт нової міжнародної ініціативи Grain from Ukraine.
За цією програмою українські харчі постачатимуться до країн Африки та Азії, що постали на межі голоду через дефіцит та зростання цін на світових ринках, викликані російською агресією проти України.
Despite the difficult wartime conditions, the Ukrainian president announced the launch of a new international Grain from Ukraine initiative.
According to this program, Ukrainian food will be supplied to countries in Africa and Asia that are on the verge of starvation due to shortages and rising prices on world markets caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Символічно, що про ініціативу було оголошено у день, коли в Україні відзначають роковини Голодомору 1933-32 років.
"Ми не дамо залишити без їжі й води мільйони людей у світі. Ми пам'ятаємо, як це було колись. Ми знаємо, як це відбувається, на жаль, сьогодні. Не допустимо, щоб це було завтра. Ні в нас, ні в будь-якій державі світу на всій планеті", - заявив Володимир Зеленський.
Він також нагадав, що Україна традиційно є одним із найбільших експортерів харчів на світовому ринку:
"Наш прапор - це блакитне небо й золоте пшеничне поле. Наша земля завжди дарувала щедрі плоди. Наша країна завжди ділилася цими плодами з усім світом. Цього року, на жаль, інакше. Російські війська оточили українські порти. Заблокували експорт нашого продовольства. Поставили світ на межу голоду. Спровокували продовольчу кризу".
It is symbolic that the initiative was announced on the day when Ukraine celebrates the anniversary of the Holodomor of 1933-32.
"We will not allow millions of people in the world to be left without food and water. We remember how it used to be. We know how it happens, unfortunately, today. We cannot allow it to happen tomorrow. Neither in us nor in to any state in the world on the entire planet," Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.
He also reminded that Ukraine is traditionally one of the largest exporters of food on the world market:
"Our flag is a blue sky and a golden wheat field. Our land has always given generous fruits. Our country has always shared these fruits with the whole world. This year, unfortunately, is different. Russian troops surrounded Ukrainian ports. They blocked the export of our food. They put the world on the brink of starvation. They provoked a food crisis.
В рамках ініціативи Grain from Ukraine до кінця весни наступного року з українських портів має бути відправлено щонайменше 60 суден - не менше десяти на місяць - до країн, що перебувають під загрозою голоду та посухи. Це Ефіопія, Судан, Південний Судан, Сомалі, Ємен, Конго, Кенія, Нігерія.
As part of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, by the end of spring next year, at least 60 ships - at least ten per month - should be sent from Ukrainian ports to countries that are at risk of famine and drought. These are Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Congo, Kenya, Nigeria.
До даної ініціативи вже приєднались 20 країн, які також небайдужі до проблеми голоду в світі.
Станом на зараз найбільший внесок в українську зернову ініціативу для Африки та Азії - 30 млн канадських доларів зробила Канада.
Про виділення 20 млн доларів на закупівлю української аграрної продукції для країн, що постали перед загрозою голоду, заявили США.
Ще 20 млн доларів надасть Катар.
Серед європейських країн найбільшу суму - 20 млн євро - надає Польща. Німеччина надасть 15 млн євро для ініціативи.
5 млн фунтів стерлінгів в рамках ініціативи Grain from Ukraine виділить Велика Британія.
Угорщина надасть 3,5 млн доларів .
Український уряд також виділив 900 млн грн (24,5 млн доларів за офіційним курсом) для закупівлі продовольства для країн Африки та Азії.
"Уряд України на виконання указу президента України, незважаючи на наші власні складнощі і труднощі, вже виділив 900 млн гривень для закупівлі пшениці та кукурудзи для Республіки Судан, Ємен, Кенія та Федеративної Республіки Нігерія, - заявив український прем'єр Денис Шмигаль. -
Україна знає, що таке голод, і ми не хочемо, щоб через Росію та її нелюдські методи примусу до покори знову вже в ХХІ столітті помирали мільйони людей".
Загальна сума, яку вже акумулювали для Grain from Ukraine, становить близько 150 млн доларів.
This initiative has already been joined by 20 countries that are also concerned about the problem of hunger in the world.
As of now, Canada made the largest contribution to the Ukrainian grain initiative for Africa and Asia - 30 million Canadian dollars.
The USA announced the allocation of 20 million dollars for the purchase of Ukrainian agricultural products for countries facing the threat of famine.
Another 20 million dollars will be provided by Qatar.
Among European countries, Poland provides the largest amount - 20 million euros. Germany will provide 15 million euros for the initiative.
Great Britain will allocate 5 million pounds as part of the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
Hungary will provide 3.5 million dollars.
The Ukrainian government also allocated UAH 900 million ($24.5 million at the official exchange rate) for the purchase of food for African and Asian countries.
"The Government of Ukraine, in compliance with the decree of the President of Ukraine, despite our own difficulties and difficulties, has already allocated 900 million hryvnias for the purchase of wheat and corn for the Republic of Sudan, Yemen, Kenya and the Federal Republic of Nigeria," said Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Ukraine knows what hunger is, and we do not want millions of people to die again in the 21st century because of Russia and its inhumane methods of coercion."
The total amount already accumulated for Grain from Ukraine is about 150 million dollars.
