Я люблю працювати з деревом. Мені подобається , як пахне деревина, коли бруски свіжо розпиляні і ще навіть повністю не висохли. А ще коли є необхідний інструмент для роботи, то взагалі чудово. На вулиці вже весна і дуже хочеться щось корисне зробити по господарству. Але ще дуже холодно і сильний вітер, тому найкраще місце для праці в таких обставинах- звичайно гараж.
Сьогодні вирішив зробити гідроізоляцію на тих брусах, що будуть закопуватись в землю. Це будуть опорні стойки для майбутньої теплиці. В гаражі знайшов якийсь автомобільний антикор, це фактично та ж бітумна мастика. Здивувався, що вона ще придатна до використання, хоча їй вже років з двадцять. Правда намащувати її на деревину було не просто, бо від холоду вона затвердла. Щоб хоч якось дотриматись технології, бо треба ж, щоб бітум добре просочився в деревину, то я вирішив це все нагріти газовим пальником.
I like to work with wood. I like the smell of wood when the logs are freshly sawn and not even completely dry yet. And when there is a necessary tool for work, it is generally great. It's already spring outside and I really want to do something useful in the household. But it is still very cold and the wind is strong, so the best place to work in such circumstances is, of course, the garage.
Today I decided to waterproof those beams that will be buried in the ground. These will be support racks for the future greenhouse. In the garage, I found some car anti-corrosion agent, it is actually the same bitumen mastic. I was surprised that it is still usable, although it is already twenty years old. True, it was not easy to smear it on the wood, because it hardened from the cold. In order to at least somehow adhere to the technology, because it is necessary for the bitumen to penetrate well into the wood, I decided to heat it all with a gas burner.
Все чудово вийшло, але декілька разів бітум загорівся. Я пізніше зрозумів, на якій відстані тримати вогонь, щоб не запалювалась смола. Але то не страшно, це полум’я легко можна загасити. Пожежі в гаражі не було.
Чекаю стійкого тепла, бо пора вже працювати на вулиці. Чомусь не хочеться по весні працювати в зимових рукавицях.
Everything turned out great, but several times the bitumen caught fire. I later figured out how far away to keep the fire so that the resin wouldn't catch fire. But it's not scary, this flame can be easily extinguished. There was no fire in the garage.
I'm waiting for stable heat, because it's time to work outside. For some reason, I don't want to work in winter gloves in the spring.
