Hanging Botanical Garden and Library of the University of Warsaw, Poland
I hope you are well my dear visitors, in Romania at the time I am writing this post the weather is very wet and it is raining heavily, yes, even though we are in the winter season snow is expected.
During the mini-holiday we had at the end of November and the beginning of December, as I wrote before, we visited some amazing places in Krakow and Warsaw (Poland).
Warsaw is the capital of Poland and, as far as I know, it is not such a sought-after European city neither in summer nor in winter (I mean here in comparison to other European cities), I visited Poland a few years ago and, frankly, I was very impressed.
But after spending this mini-holiday in Poland it amazed me even more, let's not forget that Poland was severely affected by the aftermath of World War II but was able to recover so today we have the opportunity to see a new country with amazing architecture and very tall steel and glass buildings.
A few days we had in front of us an amazing city, modern, clean, everything well set up, the trips we made during our stay were by bus or tram (in the capital we saw that they have a metro but we didn't need to use it).
Today I want to direct your attention to the Warsaw University Library, a futuristic concept I have never encountered before and the icing on the cake is the Botanical Garden itself on the roof of this library.
Yeah that's pretty much the picture I had in mind with what I'm going to find here.
But I failed to take into account that we were not students of the University and it was -4 degrees outside.
After a short tram ride and a few minutes of walking we arrived in front of the Bibleotecii standing across the street admiring the amazing architecture of the building and I couldn't believe I was there.
The library is located on Dobra Street, you can't miss it with such an architecture, its name in Polish is Biblioteka Uniwersytecks w Warsawie.
After a few steps inside, the architecture surprised us again, so the first objective was the library itself, which unfortunately we couldn't visit as it wasn't a tourist attraction, as far as we could see, the students had a kind of card that they scanned at the entrance, that's it.
Unfortunately we couldn't visit the Botanical Garden on the roof of the library because it is closed in winter, but instead we had free access to the garden next to the library which was spectacular even if it is cold outside.
I have to admit that I could hardly stand the cold outside even though it was only -4 degrees the wind chill was much lower.
From the outside everything we saw was science fiction, moreover we found a lake with water lilies, a very beautiful park and in various places were installed benches where you could sit and admire the creativity of those who created this place.
Still exploring the place, I found a window where I could look inside the library, so I quickly took a few photos to show you the shelves full of old books.
So the exploration of the Botanical Garden and the Warsaw University Library came to an end and we froze from the cold, but the effort was well worth it.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
