Maybe I haven't told you yet that I also have a favorite city in Romania, and yes, this is Oradea, I've visited it many times and I still discover sensational places here, so today I want to visit together an Art Nouveau museum, namely Casa Darvas-La Roche.

If I am to analyze the name I can't really say that the name leads me to something spectacular, but I chose to give it a chance without searching the internet for reviews about this museum, to be surprised by what I will find there.

I like Oradea, maybe because the local authorities have made major investments in this city, actually built it from scratch, renovated many old buildings keeping their origin and the air of yesteryear.

If you go through my posts you will find plenty of them where I shared with you amazing places in Oradea.

Let's get on our way.

After a few steps through the historic center of Oradea we arrive on Iosif Vulcan street and in front of us appears a building with a strange architecture and a strange entrance, yes, this was the entrance to the museum.

We timidly open the door and are greeted by a lady who invites us to the ticket office.

The price of an entrance ticket was 15lei/3euro, and the visiting hours are from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, closed on Mondays.

Historically speaking, the Darvas - La Roche House was built sometime around 1910 and is a declared historical monument. It was designed by Laszlo and Jozsef Vago and is one of the city's representative buildings. It was considered avant-garde even in its time due to its spatial composition, purism of volumetry and refined decoration.
