Hi Everyone,

During our stay in Japan, we booked a combination of Airbnb and hotels to break things up a bit. For our stay in Fukuoka, we stayed at The OneFive Terrace for 12 days. The reason we chose this hotel is that it provided 2 queen-sized beds right in the middle of town. Although Hakata JR is around 15 minutes walk away, taking the public bus is very convenient so it was not a huge issue for us. We had all our luggage shipped from our last destination to this hotel so by the time we arrived, it was already there waiting for us.

Check-in was a smooth process. The person helping us check in was very informative and gave us a great impression of the hotel already. We were also told that each night, each guest will receive a special dessert made in-house and special green tea. So for the 12 nights we stayed there, we didn’t have to buy dessert back to the hotel, we were able to choose from the 3 choices each night. I think we all got fat after staying at this hotel.

The room was very spacious. The only thing I didn’t really like was the carpet which was a little dirty for Japanese standards but it was easily solved by wearing some slippers. There was also a small nook with a sofa and table so the kids could place all their things on there or play with their devices.

The bathroom was well-designed. The sink and mirror area was right in the middle with the bathroom and toilet on separate sides so everyone could utilise each room fully and no need to wait for the next person to finish. The lighting with the mirror was particularly great for putting on makeup and cream, I just loved it!

There was a nice cupboard for large jackets which is needed for Japan in winter. If you want any amenities, you could get them from reception free of charge. It was to reduce waste which I thought was a great idea. The room gets cleaned every day which is standard for a hotel. If you are like us who start the day late (11 am), you could leave the rubbish outside of the cleaner and they can come to collect it which saves us trying to get out of the door earlier than we wanted.

The hotel is very close to Canal City so we normally have dinner around that area. It was right in the middle of the action so it was worth paying a little extra to stay there. The last thing that made this place even better, there was a convenient store right next door, perfect for those nice yummy breakfasts each morning.
