Hi Everyone,
Baseball is huge in Japan. People are dedicated with this sport but unfortunately they don’t play over winter and we have missed it the last two years. Our boys would love to see it in person so we would try to catch it next time at another season. We came across Hanshin Tigers when we arrived at Koshien Station. One of our friends suggested we visit a big complex in that area but once we came out of the station, we saw the Hanshin Tigers store and stadium right in front of us.
The team store was closed sadly but we could see that the witches hats were already ready if there is a game as people will want to visit and buy some merch to take home. The station also has a special Lawson with the Hanshin Tigers prints so that was extra special for that area. Unlike the stations closer to Osaka city, this stage had lots of open space in preperation when a game is on, there would be loads of people in that area.
Around 100m, we saw the stadium. It was closed but we can see the tall walls outside. There are small cafes and gift stores in operation and a handful of tourists were visiting. The kids really loved the open space and had a few runs before we headed over to the shopping mall. It was a bit out of town but was a nice area to see lots of space and shorter buildings unlike the high risers in Osaka.
