Hi Everyone,

Staying in Japan during Christmas and New Year was very expensive this year compared to last. I couldn’t find anything reasonable priced where we can stay for one extended period of time so we had to break our time twice over 3 weeks and one of the apartment we stayed was Apartment Hotel 11 at Namba. I really wanted to stay in the city so it would be a nice compromise to stay at a slightly small place to be at a more convenient location.

The accommodation was a bit far from Namba station with luggage but if we didn’t have luggage, the walk was actually very nice. We stayed on the higher floors so we didn’t really get too much noise from the road. The room had two double beds, a small kitchen, washing machine and balcony. The best part of it is that the toilet and bathroom is seperate so we could get ready and no be in each other’s way.

The washing machine was a plus but unfortunately it wasn’t very cleaned around the rims so I think they didn’t bother cleaning that area at all. The bathroom can change to a drying room which came in handy, our clothes normally dry the next day if we put it up before going to sleep. The kitchen was small but enough as we didn’t cook there, more heating up food for breakfast when the kids are awake. The fridge was a decent size, with the 4 of us, we do have plenty of drinks each day.

Most importantly, the bed is comfy but it wasn’t big enough. We are pretty tall so it feels like our feet were sticking out. I guess that is normal for Japan sizing but overall the beds were comfy. It has a TV so it was perfect watching new year programs (we love it each year!) and unfortunately we had the earthquake so getting updates from the TV was handy.

Would I stay here again in the future? Location wise wasn’t the closest to the station and cleaniness wasn’t the best. With limited options over Christmas and New Year, it was acceptable but normally, I won’t recommend it at all. We have stayed in many places in Japan over the years and this one doesn’t met our expectations compared to other properties in Japan.
