The Bayside City Altona

Altona is one of Melbourne's most beautiful bayside suburbs. With its white sand beaches, charm and history, it's no wonder that Altona is such a popular destination for both locals and visitors alike.

Walking around the street, you'll see a number of unique paintings, each with their own story. The paintings are located in various corners throughout the town, and add to the overall charm of the area. I'm really impressed by the art on display, and enjoy learning about the stories behind the paintings.

The artists did a great job. The paintings are stunning. Do you the man on the plane? I was told that Altona is home of the first ever man flying a plane :)

Do you see the guy without legs. We're not sure about his name but he is local and he rides the scooter every where no legs just uses arms with his dog on it too. I find it that he is such an inspiration and admirable individual !!

The stories behind these paintings are what make them so interesting. I guess the other scenes are from local history or the development of the town.

Rubber matting is made for the disabled wheelchair access. That's awesome so everyone can go to the beach ❀️

The town is located on the shores of Port Phillip Bay and is home to some of the best beaches in the area. You'll never be bored in Altona, and you'll quickly fall in love with its charm.

Altona is a very popular for fishing with boat ramp facilities very popular beach and mid street and sports grounds as well as industries such as the petroleum refinery.

Some fashionable doggos have been hitting the sand to show off their latest looks. Those ladies are so pretty..haha.

There are few things more enjoyable than a day at the beach with your furry friend by your side. And if you're lucky enough to live near Altona beach, you're in for a real treat. This beach is not only beautiful, but it's also one of the most dog-friendly places around. You'll see all kinds of dogs out and about here, from big to small, and they're all so well-behaved, and well- dressed πŸ˜πŸ˜†.

There is also a cafe hip spot or fish n chip shop around. I can imagine the beach in the summer is full.

There is the part opposite the beach that is great for a walk or picnic. This is where you can also find one of the oldest homesteads in Melbourne. My friend told me that the Langhorne family owned that beautiful house with the big trees and where one of the first residents. The home now heritage listed is rumoured to be haunted and ghost tours are held there. The area is full of history and beautiful scenery. Well, I already like this little and charming town.

Here in the center of the town. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes to explore, as well as a number of parks and reserves. What a lovely town.

I'm told that when Altona was in planning stage nobody wanted to live there as they had to cross a swamp from William town to access it. A bridge was built then attempted to sell the lands a second time was a success. Very much an industrial blue collar town history now like it’s neighbours turning pretty and white collar due to the water and proximity to the city.

Quick shot of the train station. It's very close to the city center. :)

Some pictures taken at the Hobson Bay City Council.

It's just around the city's center and worth for a visit. Plus, the theatre and the rainbow path do the arts πŸ˜‰. As I understand, the Hobson Bay City Council is the local government body for the metropolitan area of Altona, Melbourne. The council is responsible for the provision of a wide range of services to the community, including planning and infrastructure, recreation and leisure, environment and sustainability, and community welfare.

I had the pleasure of visiting Altona on a grey day, but even the grey skies couldn't take away from the beauty of the town. I would love to come back to Altona soon, hopefully on a sunny day so that I can really enjoy all that the town has to offer. 😘
