Pragati Maidan: Bigger, Better, Techno-Savvy. [Renowned Convention Centre, New Delhi]

Pragati maidan, in New Delhi, is the city's biggest exhibition center, with 16 large halls and a blend of culture, commerce, and entertainment centre. I remember visitng this place a number of times during 14Nov to 28Nov everyyear to attend the biggest trade fair. I have been to this on many other occasion too, but it used to be famous for the annual trade fair organised by ITPO - India Trade Promotion Organssation. It used to be one of the important land mark in New Delhi, with crowds from.off places coming at this places to be part of various fairs. Recently, the place has been revamped and upgraded. When I had the opprtunity, this year, I made sure to visit the place and relive my yesteryear days.

Apart from being a hub of difderent fairs, this place had provided many opportunities to various young kids to kick start their career in sales and marketing. It uses to be a good hunting around during the fair time to make quick buck as the organisor alwsys looks out for Youngs boys and girls for their promotion or sales purposes. While it has many big exisbition halls, it also houses a small movie theatre at affordable rate for the Youngs lads. This is what make Pragati maidan a hot spot for Youngs groups. Spread over 126 acres of land and in middle of the capital, no body remain unnoticed of this places.

Pragati maidan has been revamped recently. All the entire old architecture and building were replaced by a new complex that includes exhibition halls, a convention center, and amphitheaters. The upgradation of the places took place under the project, called Bharat Mandapam. It took six years to complete, starting in 2017. Now the places has many attraction for the visitors. Especially the water body with fountains.

There are shaded walkways that connect each building. Those were wide as 12 metres approx and very spacious. The amphitheatre is perfect for nukkad nataks, folk and cultural shows, while courtyards are a perfect showcase of vernacular architecture. The revamped work were carried by AEDAS from Singapore and ARCOP grpup from India. The collboration questioned what would make this is a quintessential Indian building. Here are the various looks of the places.

The new look Pragati Maidan stands as an impressive testament to India’s commitment to becoming a prominent global business destination. It is even better then before. The place has been revamped with more focus on cultural aspect and also keeping in check the visitors demand. It is very spacious and more happening at times of fair. I felt the modernisation does require a revamped and this is a symbol of that.

The place has easy connectivity through roads and metro railways making it easy approachable. It was a good visit with many memory collected untill next time. Pragati Maidan is a place where you can learn and grow. It is a place where you can witness India's rising stature. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have visited Pragati Maidan.

Peace!!
