ESCAPE TO BUDAPEST IN FEBRUARY

February may be cold, but it can also be the perfect time for a romantic getaway to beautiful Budapest. Together with my boyfriend, we decided to explore the Hungarian capital for two days, which captivated us with its history, art, delicious cuisine and lively nightlife.

FIRST DAY:

Our first day in Budapest started with exploring one of the most unique places in the city – Brudern House. Combining historic architecture and modern design, this elegant building is ideal for those who love the combination of old and new.

The next stop was Cinema Mystica – a very special artistic experience. It is an interactive exhibition that intertwines light, sound and digital art into a unique and somewhat mysterious event. Through this artistic labyrinth, we felt like we were traveling through other dimensions, which was the perfect starting point to continue our exploration.

After the artistic experiences, we went for lunch at the legendary Paris Cafe. Inspired by the Parisian style, this historic cafe has been frequented by many artists and writers.

We ended the day in the iconic Szimpla Kert – the most famous ruin bar in the city. This place is a real institution in Budapest, where you can enjoy good music, colorful cocktails and an incredibly relaxed atmosphere.

SECOND DAY:

We started the second day with breakfast at Twenty Six, a beautiful green corner in the middle of the city. This urban jungle impressed us with its freshness and delicious breakfast, which gave us energy for further exploration.

After breakfast, we headed towards St. Stephen's Square, where we admired the majesty of the Basilica of Saint Stephen. This architectural masterpiece cannot be missed - its magnificent dome dominates the city. We walked around the square, admiring the artistic details and enjoying the view of the historic city center.

We continued our journey to the Michael Jackson Memorial Tree, which stands opposite the Kempinski Hotel. This tree has become a kind of shrine for fans of the King of Pop, decorated with countless memories, photos and messages.

The most anticipated part of our trip was the visit to Budai Várnegyed (Castle District). Walking on the castle hill, while the view of the river Danube and Pest opens up in front of you, was a magical experience. We were enchanted by Buda Castle, Matthias Church and the picturesque Fisherman's Bastion, where we stayed for quite some time, admiring the architecture and photographing the views.

For the evening entertainment, we returned to Pest, to the famous Instant-Fogas complex. This huge night complex, combining several clubs and bars in one, was the perfect end to our trip. Dancing and enjoying drinks, we indulged in the Budapest night scene, which is known for its liveliness and unique energy.

LAST DAY: FAREWELL TO BUDAPEST

The next morning, we slowly headed back home, but with the promise that we would definitely return to Budapest. This two-day getaway showed us that the city has much more to offer than one would think. From history, culture, to culinary experiences and nightlife.🫶🏻
