Behind great things are always valuable lessons!
There are lonely days, I and the motorbike roam all over the country.
Today I will tell you a part of that journey.
West Ho Chi Minh Trail, one of the top 10 roads worth experiencing by motorbike in the world.
It is a beautiful, majestic land. The West Ho Chi Minh road goes through the forest like a silk strip winding across the length of the country.
My journey has no destination, it is a long trip.
I departed from Hue on a spring morning. After breakfast at Q homestay at 9 am, the rain still hadn't stopped, so I decided to go to A Luoi in the rain. Take Highway 49 to get to A Luoi.
Everything was fine until I had an accident and a car breakdown. Luckily I haven't injured myself.
The road is very empty and there is no place to repair the car. Because I went on Lunar New Year, almost all garages were closed.
I had to drive nearly 100km with broken rearview mirror and damaged gear lever, in the rain and slippery pass.
In return, the scenery on the way is very beautiful.
Around 3 p.m., I also found a garage to repair the car and ate a little because I haven't eaten since breakfast.
4 p.m I arrived at Khe Xanh. It would be brilliant if I stayed there for one night. I made the wrong decision that I would reach Truong Son commune 120km away before dark.
At first, it was beautiful without rain, the road was empty which is also the reason why I thought I would go fast.
But after climbing up, it was so foggy that I had to slow down.
6 p.m. it gets dark and starts to rain. But in the forest of the desert, I had no choice but to advance in the cold, tired and hungry. Right now, I'm still 40km from where I can stay.
It took 2 hours to travel 40km on a pitch-black night in Truong Son, then I also found the motel.
Eat some fast food prepared before the trip because they do not sell food here. After that, I rested for the next journey.
Although I am still safe after all, the lesson I have learned is not to drive alone at night in a deserted place. Before that, I was advised like that by a friend who went before, but because I was so eager to win, I did not listen to it. Luckily for me, nothing unfortunate happened.
The next morning was a beautiful day at the place I stayed. I'm about to continue my journey, but that's another story I'll tell you guys in my next blog.
Thank you for reading my post and have a great week ahead.
