Visit to Cologne, Hohenzollern Bridge - Germany

Hello everyone.
Last year with couple of friends we visited Germany and Belgium. I did post about Belgium but did not manage to post about our time in Germany.
It was my first time in Germany and it was very nice. Weather was a bit rainy and cloudy but we had a good time.
We visited couple of cities and this post is about our time in Cologne.

First thing we visited in Cologne is Cable car that goes over river Rhine. Beautiful views of the city. Cable car is around 930 meters long in one direction.

Like I said weather was rainy.

View from the Cable car is very beautiful.
You can see landscape and surrounding of city Cologne.

And now we go back.

Cologne Cathedral or Kölner Dom.
It is cathedral in Gothic style. It has so many details on its facade. It is 144,5 meters long and 86.25 meters wide. Its height is 157 meters. And when you get close to the Cathedral you realize how big it is.
Foundation for the Cathedral was made in 1248 and it was finished in 1880. 632 years after its construction started.
It is most visited landmark in Germany with 20 000 daily visits (per wikipedia).

It has so many details on the facade.

When you stand near Cathedral you realize how tall it is.

The Hohenzollern Bridge or Hohenzollernbrücke

The Hohenzollern Bridge is bridge on river Rhine. It is constructed between 1907 and 1911. It lenght is around 409 meters.
Hohenzollern Bridge is one of the busiest bridges in Germany. While being open to pedestrians around 1200 trains passes daily over the bridge.

Love lock bridge Cologne or Love Bridge
In late summer 2008 people started to attach padlocks on the bridge. These padlocks are symbol of their love. And they throw keys in the river Rhine.
In 2011 it was counted that there is 40 000 padlocks on the bridge.
And for today it is estimated to be around 340 000 padlocks on the bridge. (source)

It is nice sight with all these padlocks on the bridge.

Padlocks are everywhere.
Even on the fence around the bridge.
It is beautiful design that adds up to the bridge. Instead of metal and steel we have colorful surrounding.

Even on the street signs there are some padlocks.

Padlocks are very interesting.

View from the other river bank.

Coffee time.

We had good time in Cologne.

We visited Car Museum Classic Remise Düsseldorf.
A lot of very good cars.
Really nice classical cars.

And Borussia Dortmund stadium.
Very beautiful stadium. It would be nice to watch game on this stadium one day.

We had good time.
Would not have anything against new visit to Cologne. This time to explore more city of Cologne.
