You can reach Königssee by train, bus or car from Munich or Salzburg. It is very close to Salzburg in terms of location. We traveled by our own car and immediately settled into the campsite upon arrival. The campsite's name is Mülleiten and we had a pleasant night here. The nightly accommodation fee in August was 28 euros due to the peak season. Some people also make day trips here to reduce costs.

After settling in on our first day,we went for a walk along the shoreline of the lake. We encountered magnificent natural landscapes at Königssee. There are various activities available such as hiking, camping, taking a boat tour on the lake and walking at the town center. And, there are hundreds of hiking trails. To plan your activities in this national park filled with greenery, waterfalls and lakes, you can visit the official website.

You also have the chance to take a cable car up. We considered taking advantage of this opportunity on the first day but missed the cable car. Therefore we changed our plans for the next day.We took a stroll around the lake and took a look at the Jennerban cable car. The area features Bavarian style houses. Almost like a fairytale world.

After a few years since our previous visit, we are back here. And we realize how quickly time has passed. This time we are staying in a hotel near the campsite. We took a lake tour, went for hikes and savored the beauty of nature. The weather was very pleasant with temperatures around 30 degrees. Evenings started to cool down making it a wonderful time for walks.

You can visit Königssee in any season, but spring and summer are the most beautiful times here imo. You can enjoy nature hikes and take part in lake tours. In winter it's also a great destination for winter sports. Based on my experience I can say that August to October is an ideal time to visit this region.

We had a lovely day walking around the lake. In the evening we noticed that the temperature was still above 27 degrees. We visited the bobsled track. It was closed as it wasn't the winter sports season.

We stopped at a place famous for making crepes and arrived at an area with small restaurants on the street. We had the opportunity to taste the flavors of Bavarian cuisine.

We completed this beautiful trip and returned to the campsite. Watching the Bavarian style houses we reached the campsite. We particularly liked the appearance of these houses adorned with balconies and flowers.
