Discover a different world Hampi part 2(UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE)

In my last post I shared about Hampi. There are many more sites to share with you all. Hampi is for those who loves History. It is said that Hampi has more historical ruins than Rome. And it was the second largest city in the world and the richest empires in the world. The ruins stories and imaginations will take you back to the 14th century.

This is Sita Jheel that is a small pond in the name of Maa Sita next to Sugriva's cave.

Sugriva Cave


There are so many caves in Hampi but Sugrivas cave is most popular. This is the cave where Sugriva kept the ornaments of Maa Sita, when she was kidnapped by Ravana . She then threw her ornaments tied up in the piece of her saree to ensure that Her husband Lord RAMA Will come to track her. It is small narrow cave you can see in the image.

QUEENS BATH


It was built during the times of Vijayanagara Empire. It was built for the Royal Women's bathing. It was built in such a way that no outsiders can enter in this place. It has so many corridors, windows. It has no ceilings. As we know that now it has lost its beauty but in that time it was definitely beautiful with fabulous architecture.

Mahanavami Dibba or The house of the victory


This is the tallest structure in the Royal enclosure,near queens bath. It is in the square shape from far, but as we go close to this place then the whole details emerge.
On the top only view of greenery and lawns around the campus we can see.
The king used to see the March past, war games, shows of royal animals and the most important festival Navaratri- the nine day festival.

See how beautifully the stone is craved and work are done in that period by craftsmanship.

Stepped Tank


It is ancient water tank in Hampi with the beautiful architecture. It is known as Pushkarnis. It was used for ceremonial purposes as it was considered the part of Ganges, the sacred holy river of Hinduisms. It was used for ritual bathing and cleansing before prayers occurred.

Coracle Rides


It is one of the most definitive experience in Hampi. Coracle, is a bowl shaped boat made of Reed and wooven wood and waterproof covering. It is Thrilling experience. The boatman will provide you the life jackets. It will charge 500rs for one person for the half hour ride.

Hazara Rama temple


It is important shrine in Hampi. This beautiful temple is built for the Royals of the kingdom as it was the private place for kings to worships. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama.
The beautiful carvings attracts tourists to come and visit to this temple.

Lotus Mahal


Lotus mahal or Kamal mahal was a place of royal family of the vijayanagara Empire. It shapes like lotus bud. There are balconies and the passages looked like lotus. So it is known as lotus Mahal.

Elephant Stables


This is Elephant stables. The elephant stables were built in the 15th century to accommodate elephants. They are very large as you can see in the pic bow. The elephants were used to park in this stables. There were 11 chambers. Some chambers have inner connector.

Achutaraya Temple


It is the temple dedicated to Lord Venketeswara. It is surrounded in huge area. The temples are surrounded by greenery feilds.

One Big Statue of Ganesha-

Badavilinga Temple-

It is largest shivalinga in Hampi. There is water in the base.
The height is 3mt of Shivalinga.

Overall Hampi is great place for the history Lovers. It is wonderful in its own. The ruins tells their Story themselves. The beautiful architecture, structure are still there which we can see in this ruins. We spend good family times and it was fun experience for us.
