A few days ago, I got to know that a new road was being constructed to the remote villages of Trashi and Jachani that were previously accessible only after a long trek of 3-4 hours from the road.
We got on our bike and started our journey from Baragran village and took Halan road till Shila. From Shila, this road is being constructed. It was still under construction and not metalled. I was on my bike on that difficult road so I was not able to capture many photos at that time for first 2-3 kms until I could not help but to stop my bike.
I was already on the top on the valley and I could see the villages that were down the valley. There were only 3 or 4 houses there constructed on the top of the hill.
It was a perfect site for construction of houses. It was an empty, kind of flat land in between the forest with all round view of the valley. What I got to know was that here, only one house was considered and a British person lived here away from hustle and bustle of the valley below. The old houses of the left side of the picture above is the house he lived in.
I went with my brother in our old trustee Bajaj Pulsar 150. It was old but had enough power to take us both here on the top of the valley.
Later I realised that with the construction of road, other modern things were also coming to this remote place like electricity and network connectivity.
The condition of the road was not so good as it was still under construction. Sometimes my brother needed to get off the bike to get going.!
The view from there was phenomenal. We could see the whole valley from there but we needed to go further.
So we got on our bike again and started riding. It was a kind of ride I will always remember. Huge pine and deodar trees on the one side and the panoramic views of the valley in the other side with the road that gave us vibrations as we were riding over it on our motorbike.
After riding for a while, we were able to see Trashi village from a distance. It’s a small village with about 10 houses and a temple.
As soon as we entered the village, we were greeted by this beautiful temple made using kath-kuni architecture of this place.
We were literally in the top of the world. Most people in the valley below didn’t know that there’s a small village on the top of the mountains they see everyday.
We went a little further to explore and the views were getting better as we moved. We wanted to go to the end of the road and see how’s the view from there.
We got to know from some people there that the road was not yet made till Jachani village and is still under construction.
We reached the end of the road after a while and a pickup was parked there. We chilled there for a while and parked our bike in the same place to start another adventure to Jachani village about which I’ll write in next blog.
