Another day that dawned radiantly, with a cloudless blue sky and a gentle breeze announcing that it would be another one of those perfect summer days. As I mentioned to you, we were staying in a small village in Alentejo, where the mornings have a special charm, with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixing with the smell of sea air. We decided that that would be the ideal day to visit the Tróia Peninsula, a destination that has always sparked my interest due to its natural beauty and the serenity it offers.

Mais um dia que amanheceu radiante, com o céu azul sem nuvens e uma brisa suave a anunciar que seria mais um daqueles dias perfeitos de verão. Como vos referi estávamos alojados numa pequena vila no Alentejo, onde as manhãs têm um encanto especial, com o aroma a café acabado de fazer a misturar-se com o cheiro a maresia. Decidimos que aquele seria o dia ideal para visitar a Península de Troia, um destino que sempre me despertou interesse pela sua beleza natural e pela serenidade que oferece.
We left early, taking the car to make the most of the day. The road, which winds along the coast, offers stunning views of the Sado Estuary. The reflection of the sun on the calm waters of the river creates a light show that seems to have come out of a painting.
There are many people crossing to the peninsula via ferry to enjoy this wonderful place and everything it has to offer.

Saímos cedo, pegando no carro para aproveitar ao máximo o dia. A estrada, que serpenteia ao longo da costa, oferece vistas deslumbrantes do Estuário do Sado. O reflexo do sol nas águas tranquilas do rio cria um espetáculo de luzes que parece saído de um quadro.
Existem muitas pessoas a fazer a travessia para a peninsula através de ferry para aproveitar este lugar maravilhoso e tudo o que tem para oferecer.
As soon as we arrived in Troy, we were greeted by an almost idyllic setting. The peninsula extends into long beaches of fine white sand, bathed by crystal clear waters that vary between turquoise blue and emerald green (although this year there was a lot of algae). The sun was shining brightly, warming the sand, but a constant breeze made the heat more than bearable. The contrast between the dunes and the green vegetation is indescribably beautiful, and the tranquility of the place invites you to relax and forget about the world (or try, at least for those with energetic children).

Assim que chegamos a Troia, fomos recebidos por um cenário quase idílico. A península estende-se em longas praias de areia branca e fina, banhadas por águas cristalinas que variam entre o azul-turquesa e o verde-esmeralda (contudo este ano tinha muitas algas). O sol brilhava intensamente, aquecendo a areia, mas uma brisa constante tornava o calor mais do que suportável. O contraste entre as dunas e a vegetação verde é de uma beleza indescritível, e a tranquilidade do lugar convida a relaxar e a esquecer o mundo (ou tentar, pelo menos para quem tem filhos cheios de energia).
We start at Troia Mar Beach, one of the best known. I already warn you that parking is extremely difficult. There aren't many spaces on the street and the parks are almost all paid for or belong to the hotels located here. The beach is long and clean and the sea was calm. The water temperature is around 19 degrees, ideal for cold and fearless dives :-) After a long walk along the sand, we found a place to spread out our towel and enjoy the sun and the landscape.

Começamos Praia de Troia Mar, uma das mais conhecidas . Deixo já o aviso que é extremamente difícil estacionar. Não existem muitos lugares na rua e os parque são quase todos pagos ou pertencem aos hotéis que aqui se encontram. A praia é extensa e limpa e o mar estava calmo. A temperatura da água ronda os 19 graus, ideal para mergulhos sem frio e sem medos :-) Depois de uma longa caminhada pela areia, encontramos um local para estender a toalha e aproveitamos o sol e a paisagem.
Troia is also known for its luxury resorts, and, when strolling around the peninsula, it is easy to see the sophistication of the infrastructure that harmoniously integrates with nature. The resorts, with their infinity pools, spas and fine restaurants, offer an interesting contrast between modern luxury and the tranquility of the natural setting. We went to the Troia Resort, one of the most emblematic, and were impressed by the elegance of its facilities. The gardens are impeccable, with tall palm trees and colorful flowers decorating the paths, and the sea view is simply stunning.

Troia é conhecida também pelos seus resorts de luxo, e, ao passear pela península, é fácil perceber a sofisticação das infraestruturas que se integram harmoniosamente com a natureza. Os resorts, com as suas piscinas infinitas, spas e restaurantes requintados, oferecem um contraste interessante entre o luxo moderno e a tranquilidade do cenário natural. Fomos até ao Troia Resort, um dos mais emblemáticos, e ficamos impressionados com a elegância das suas instalações. Os jardins são impecáveis, com palmeiras altas e flores coloridas a decorar os caminhos, e a vista para o mar é simplesmente deslumbrante.
We continue to explore the peninsula, passing Troia Golf, a golf course famous for its privileged seaside location. The green of the lawn, surrounded by sand dunes, creates a breathtaking landscape, even for those, like me, who don't practice the sport. The peninsula is also rich in history, and visiting the Roman ruins of Troy would be one of the highlights of our day. However, the 35 degrees that were quickly felt made us give up on the idea.

Continuamos a explorar a península, passando pelo Troia Golf, um campo de golfe famoso pela sua localização privilegiada junto ao mar. O verde do relvado, cercado pelas dunas de areia, cria uma paisagem de cortar a respiração, mesmo para quem, como eu, não pratica o desporto. A península é também rica em história, e a visita às ruínas romanas de Troia seria um dos pontos altos do nosso dia. Contudo os 35 graus que se faziam sentir rapidamente nos fizeram desistir da ideia.
We returned to our accommodation at dusk, with our bodies relaxed and our minds calm, bringing back memories of a perfect day on the Troia Peninsula. This place is a true refuge, where natural beauty meets comfort and luxury, creating a setting that invites you to return again and again.

Voltamos ao alojamento já ao anoitecer, com o corpo relaxado e a mente tranquila, trazendo as memórias de um dia perfeito na Península de Troia. Este lugar é um verdadeiro refúgio, onde a beleza natural se encontra com o conforto e o luxo, criando um cenário que convida a voltar vezes sem conta.
