Visiting the city of Mexico, we stayed in Cancun, but the desire to visit this city was stronger than me. I went to visit the capital of Mexico, which is also the cultural center of Mexico, every corner of it is picturesque and worthy of attention.
Mexico City is a very exciting city, full of contrasts and will not leave you indifferent, rich in numerous museums, sculptures, monuments and even modern buildings, so the contrast of this city is really something special.
Mexico city symbol:
I will start with the symbol of the city, and that is the Angel of Independence, a triumphal monument that was built in 1910 during the reign of President Diaz.
This monument symbolizes the independence and victory of Mexico over the Spanish colonizers. The statue at the top represents the winged Roman goddess of justice, who holds a wreath in one hand and a broken shackle in the other.
Below the monument, there is a door that leads to a small museum, which is dedicated to the generals who died in the fight for the independence of Mexico.
Palace of Fine Arts:
One of the most beautiful buildings is also a beautiful art palace, which is also the cultural center of Mexico City. Its construction began in the 19th century.
The palace is painted with murals, today exhibitions and performances are organized here.
Park Alameda:
Across the street from the Palace of Fine Arts is one of the most beautiful parks, a place for true relaxation.
Alameda Central Park is a garden of greenery with a cobbled path and decorative fountains and statues. This park is also one of the oldest parks in Mexico.
Today it is a place for various manifestations and events, once upon a time it was just a market, but when the king decided to create a green area here as a public park. That is how the public park was created in 1592. And it was named after the famous tree that was planted on these green areas (alamo), poplar.
The fountains are designed in the French style and are inspired by Greek mythology. The park is popular among all walks of life in Mexico.
On the south side of the park is one of the largest, semicircular monuments that dominates white. Lions holding the monument, decorative pillars, to the statue itself, which is located at the very top. And it is dedicated to Benito Juarez, the most popular president of Mexico.
At the exit from the park, you can see parasols, and the place looks like a market where you can buy something to drink or something to eat, and even some souvenirs and various other small things.
Truly a beautiful experience in visiting this park, with wonderful emerald waters flowing from the fountain, a variety of monuments and sculptures.
Revolution Monument:
The Day of the Revolution, which began in 1910, lasted for about ten years, on which day Mexicans celebrate the day of the revolution every year, traditionally marking large parades with civil ceremonies across the country.
This monument, which dominates the city of Mexico, is a memory of the past of this country.
Modern architecture:
Torre del Caballito is a skyscraper that cannot be bypassed, it has a large shopping center that contains 35 stores. At the beginning, I mentioned that it is a skyscraper, its height is 135 meters in height.
In front of the building there is a fountain, which is decorated with flowers, and the main statue is in the shape of a horse.
From my walk around the city, I present to you two other very interesting buildings, which dominate the modern style, interesting architecture, in front of which there is a fountain.
A sculpture can be seen on the upper part of the fountain, dedicated to the goddess of hunting Diana.
Mexico City walks leisurely during the day, even if you are alone, but it is not recommended to enter the side streets when evening falls. Taxis are taken only if necessary, otherwise public transport is used, because taxis can charge more than necessary.
I think that this is a city that will satisfy everyone's taste and different types of people, from lovers of architecture, adventurers, art lovers and even those who are interested in the gastronomic scene, it is exclusively Mexico City. This city is one of the oldest cities in the world, I looked at some interesting architectures that are important for this city, but there are really a lot of them that would take a lot of time to visit in more detail.
