Chania, Crete (Greece) mini tour

Hello everyone! Today I want to share some photos I took while I was visiting Crete, Greece in September and focus of this post will be beautiful city Chania!

Chania is located on the north-west side of the island and it's divided into two parts - old city and modern city. We were mainly spending time in the old city as it's really beautiful and there's a lot going on here. I absolutely fell in love with cute, narrow streets full of plants, flowers, small shops of all kinds (mainly souvenirs and workshops), cozy looking restaurants and cafes...

Every corner of this part of the city is so picturesque and mesmerizing. I had to take a couple of photos with the colorful background - literally just looking back at these photos makes me happy! :)

Here are some details of ceramics' workshops which can be seen a lot in these narrow street of old town. They always have cute displays, they look very inviting and welcoming so we took a quick look at few of these. I love these colorful bowls and mugs with different patters so it was hard to resist and just look at them without buying anything.

This is the old mosque that was left from the Ottoman empire and I believe now it's an exhibition place. I thought that it was interesting to see something left from that period of time, there is also a lot of Venetian architecture spread around this area and Chania really looks like a collection of different eras and empires.

Since we stayed in a small place near Chania, we were able to visit the city few times both during the day and night. Even on cloudy days Chania still looks so pretty. One of the famous monuments of the city is the lighthouse that stands at the port entrance and it's left from the Venetian time.

I like these colorful, old looking buildings - they always give so much life to every city, we also have them in Novi Sad and I guess it's common to comes across in many European cities.

No matter what time in the day we are visiting Chania, one of my favorite things to do here is just take a walk alongside water, enjoy the vibe of the city and admire its beauty. As you can probably tell from the photo, there is a lot of restaurants, typical Greek taverna's, cafes, bars, shops...

To end this post I want to share one of my personal favorite photos I took in Chania - flowers with the lighthouse in the background. I hope you enjoyed this mini tour of the old city of Chania and if you're ever visiting Crete, I highly recommend coming to this small but very beautiful and charming city.

Thank you for reading, stay tuned for more Crete content! :)
