Tokyo bay parkrun

It is only a small parkrun but they sure had some good runner, I suppose when it only a few degrees Celsius above freezing only the really keen come out. A quick check of last week's results had the tail walker finishing in 37 minutes l. That might be the quickest I have seen. 37 minutes may have had the trailer walker running a bit but I also know a bloke who has walked a 5 kilometre parkrun in 36 minutes. Tokyo Bay was a pretty good course , nice flat and wide paths and some water views.

It was a great small crew, just 2 tourists, a dad and his daughter from Singapore and us from Australia. The local runners were happy and excited to meet us and swap parkrun stories. There was also a couple of expats there who now live in Tokyo who made and translations easy. Though we were doing well without them in broken English and the little bit of Japanese Caroline had studied when she was at school and had been relearning on Duolingo before our trip.

I was using the Hive singlet as a second layer as it was only about 4 degrees Celsius.

It was like they had built an airstrip landing run way on the bay side of the break wall. Most of this area had been reclaimed from the bay.

It is great being able to find other parkruns in different countries. Japan is now our 5th different parkrun country visited and run.

The course maps, there was a pretty strong and cold head wind to the first turn around but it was all pretty pleasant after that.

A special shout out my soul mate, travel partner and best friend on her 250th parkrun.
