The last day of our resent ski trip looked ok but but it was very windy. Even the crow in our car side mirror was struggling with all the extra turbulence. Lots of the chair lifts were on wind hold but there was still plenty of good options too still get around and get some more skiing into legs before a long trip home.
First we warmed up on Perisher Front Valley beginners area. It is definitely worth getting up early in Australian snow resorts. We worked out it was best to catch the Mitchell T bar while the main crowd was queued at the chair lifts. The Mitchell T bar was a shorter ride on an easy beginner run but it was just great getting to being one of the first there and getting to carve some first tracks on the nicely groomed snow.
After 10 or so fast short runs, working on our turns, we caught the Piper T bar for a bit of a traverse to The Smiggin Holes area of the Perisher Snow Resort. Perisher is actually 4 resorts now combine and all linked together.

This part of the mountain is all green easy runs mainly were all the school groups stay and have there lessons.
Smiggin Holes is named after cattle that used to graze the area and leave hoof holes that used to fill with water.
One triple chair lift, 4 T bars, 2 J bars and a short magic carpet. It does not take long to checkout the whole area and ride them all in this part of the mountain.
This is the lowest part of the resort too the highest peak here is Mount Piper at 1830m above sea level. It looked very warm with the sun out, all the melting snow and grass patches but the wind made it chilly.
