Auckland Airport welcome arch. Our first overseas trip since covid, so exciting to finally get some serious travel in.

It was so exciting to visit New Zealand’s biggest city for the first time. We were only there for a few days but hopefully that would be enough time to check some of the major attractions out.

A great opportunity to catch up with Vince the Strava2hive developer at the Western Springs parkrun.

The parkrun was run around the Western Springs Lakeside Park.

Not my fastest run but a nice two lap run around a beautiful lake.

We were staying near the Skytower but did not go up it.

Mount Eden. An extinct Volcanic Plug with some great city and harbour views.

Auckland domain and winter gardens
I had seen @run.vince.run strava run maps on his Strava2hive posts many times and decided if it's good enough for the local to run there maybe @consciouscat and I should do our weekly long run there and check it out.

It was only a couple of kilometres from our accommodation so that and a few lap of the domain should work well.

The plan was solid but this Sunday morning was busy some major event settling up blocked roadways and paths. There was also cricket matches and Frisbee tournaments, it was all happening.

The run was pleasant enough but as soon as l had clocked enough kilometres, it was even better to just walk around and get a few photos.
