Friends, last July I got a chance to visit Shrikhand Kailash again this time. Shrikhand Kailash is a pilgrimage site. Which is considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. This is a difficult trek which reaches the 5000m Shivling (peak) through narrow paths and glaciers. The views here are so amazing that I am drawn here every year. This is my 14th yatra to Shrikhand Kailash. I have been doing this journey continuously since 2011. So I will try to tell all of you about this journey through the blog. Hope you all will like this blog and pictures.

Day -1
Friends, on 28-7-24 I leave home for Shrikhand Kailash with my brother (maternal uncle's son). Whose name is Vinay. From Narkanda at 9 in the morning we go to Rampur by bus! Rampur is a beautiful city situated near the Sutlej river.
From Rampur bus stand we enquire about Fancha bus. Shrikhand Kailash trek starts from Fancha. From the bus counter we come to know that Rampur-Fancha bus does not run on Sundays.
We have breakfast at a nearby hotel and think about going further. Vinay has learnt two stroke engine work in Rampur for two years due to which he knows a lot of people there. He calls his friend and tells him everything.

His friend says that you fill petrol in my car and I will drop you at Fancha. I become happy on hearing this.
His friend comes to Rampur bus stand to pick us up and we keep our luggage in his car and leave for Fancha.

After about two hours we reach Kandri which is three kilometers before Fancha. Due to rain, there is silt on the road. JCB machine is working to remove the silt and we sit in the car and wait for the road to open. After a while, we come to know from the driver of the machine that there is a lot of silt fallen on the road ahead. He asks us to go on foot to Fancha from here and says the rest is up to you people.

We talk among ourselves and decide to go on foot. We take out our bags from the car which are very heavy and start our journey after saying bye to the driver.
Fancha is three kilometers from here and we reach Fancha village in the evening.

On reaching Fancha, we buy our food and other essential items from a small shop which will be useful for us in this three-day journey and this is the last shop.

We are going on this route for the first time and we take information about the route from the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper says that you should not take any shortcut and follow the yellow marks on the way.
Today you should stop at Fancha Kanda. There is a small hut for the travelers, stop there and start the journey in the morning. We say thanks (Jai Shankar) to the shopkeeper and start our journey.
The climb has started and we are moving towards Fancha Kanda which is two kilometers away from here. We can also see yellow marks on the way. After climbing continuously for one hour, we reach Fancha Kanda. There are apple orchards all around and some houses of Fancha villagers are also there.

We find a hut which is made for travelers. The condition of the hut is a little bad but it is good for spending the night. We set up a tent inside the hut and collect wood before nightfall. At night we sit near the fire and have dinner and soon fall asleep.

That's all in today's blog. I will tell you about the further adventure in my next blog. Thank you.

I could not take many pictures because the bag was heavy. It was so cold that I did not feel like taking pictures.
