Picnic area - Liberland Village

The light of day and the darkness of night - both are beautiful in their way and unimaginable without each other. Maybe they show us different details and give us a different approach, maybe we get to know a place in the dark and come back when the sun shines on it and it's not the same. It can happen.

I was thinking about that after I visited this place one evening. It was a concert, with a campfire in front of the little scene. Frogs were making their concert in the lake and I wished to go back and see it better when it is not dark.

Just a few days passed and I took measures to fulfil that wish. I took a bicycle!

The initial plan was to swim in the lake, which in the end didn't happen. Anyway, I enjoyed the time spent there, cooling down from the heat and tiredness from cycling. It took some time to get there, and the sun was pretty strong.

The road to get there.

That "some time" was around 30 minutes, it's not that much but the aggravating factor was the sun on a hot summer afternoon. You arrive with that desire to jump into the water immediately, without obstacles. But there was an obstacle! The gate!

What would you do? Tell me, honestly. Would you just simply go away?

I checked if it was locked... And it wasn't :))

I just had to push the wooden gate and enter the world of Liberland.

The Free Republic of Liberland is actually not here but it's close. This is just a picnic area and the place where the event Floating Man is held. This year the festival was held between the fourth and the fourteenth of August.

You see no one around. Well, it was July when my visit happened and indeed, that afternoon only my feet were approaching the lake.

Only my feet were walking on this pier.

And this deck chair was empty. Now, again. What would you do lol? Would you just walk away? 😂

There was a little prefabricated house, so what would you...? Just a joke, I didn't enter here, I didn't touch anything.

And I didn't jump into the water as there were too many water lilies and I know I would freak out a bit when the vegetation from the water would touch my legs. I walked back to the ground.

The lake is so nice though. It is not too big and as we see there is grass and water lilies covering its surface. The boats can help when you want to take a better look. {no, I will not ask what would you do 😁}

The pier with the little wooden house.

All the green you see, until the trees is the lake, covered with water lily leaves.

Around the little lake, in the green area, there are places for tents, a few spots where you can set fire and cook and eat, or playgrounds for children.

There are more benches and tables closer to the building where the conferences and the festivals are held. Also, an area covered with a sailcloth tent, with tables and benches.

If I would ask you to take a seat we would stay here, but my bike and I went to the shores of the Danube to swim after this visit to ARK. The shade that these trees provided was great, but my idea was to jump into the water - and it happened when I closed the wooden gate of Liberland Village and pedalled to the river bank.
