Hello Hive Friends! I'm a newbie here and I just want to share with you my experience at Dusit Thani Mactan.
What a privilege to visit a 5-Star Hotel and Resort! (December 2021) Finally, after 2 years of seclusion brought about by the pandemic, we were able to go out as a family and unwind in a luxury resort. It was sponsored by the company where my nephew was working. It was a double celebration- Christmas and Farewell Party for the employees due to closure of their company branch here in Cebu. It was day use only but we really enjoyed its ambience, nice view, amenities, and of course the sumptuous lunch.
It was located towards the end of the island of Mactan, Lapu-lapu City. When one enters the main entrance of the resort, it would take a few minutes before you could reach the parking area then on to the lobby.
The Grand Lobby
Upon entering the lobby, since it was situated on an elevated level, you can see the beach ahead. It was so beautiful and so spacious that we did not have any problem about social distancing that time. I think the architectural design was Thai-inspired as its name suggests. One can find something like a chandelier which was a school of fish hanging at the center of the ceiling which could symbolize the rich marine life of the Philippines. Since it was Christmastime, there where big Christmas trees and other decors like gold leaves and ribbons that abound along the ironworks surrounding the bar located at the middle part of the lobby. At the right side, there was a reception desk that had a modern and unique design. On the other side there was a deli shop that sells cakes and desserts.
The Infinity Pool: The Main Attraction
For me, this was the best part of the resort. Going down the lobby, one can find a wide set of stairs leading to the huge infinity pool overlooking the sea.
At one side, you can find a long line of beach lounge chairs that were submerged into the water.
Next to it, was a pool for kids which was very safe and near the shower area. There was also a fountain coming out from a shell into the pool. There was a gazebo and a place with wooden board flooring where you could lounge by while seeing the sunrise or sunset. In two words, I describe it as So Beautiful! Only the kids went on swimming.
The gazebo at the side of the pool overlooking the sea. Here you can have access to many electrical outlets for sound systems and other electronic devices.
A hallway leading to the pool. Notice the Thai decors.
From the pool, going down, there's the boardwalk.
I have no photos during our lunch except for these few shots where the kids were enjoying their last dessert for the day. My nephew got some but they are in his phone.
Preparing to go home.
Back to the lobby before going home.
That's all for today's blog Friends, thanks for dropping by.
Take care!😍
