Welcome to the second part of the fantastic journey through the Harry Potter Studios in Watford near London.
After we had rested a bit halfway through the tour and slowly started to process the great impressions, we of course also wanted to check out the other sets. and there were still a lot of things left from the Harry Potter films that we hadn't seen yet. And right in the next hall there was the next highlight for us, the Hogwarts Express! Full size with steaming chimney. You could walk through the entire train and each compartment was beautifully decorated with props from the films.
From here we went into the open courtyard and treated ourselves to a Butterbeer in the sun. We looked at the night bus that Harry used to travel all over London and then came to Privet Drive, the Dursleys' home. Here, too, we were able to see all the rooms from the films and were even able to follow the whirlwind of letters inviting Harry to Hogwarts. Just like Aunt Petunia, who had mutated into a balloon and was floating in the dining room.
Back outside we came to the greenhouse where the little mandrakes were bred. And anyone who knows the films knows that it can get pretty loud at times. And you could actually pull the little mandrakes out of the ground and they sang their familiar screams from the films. Simply brilliantly done.
We were also able to look at the bridge that was blown up so spectacularly in the last part of the saga, but unfortunately we couldn't walk over it ourselves because it was closed. Back inside the halls we suddenly found ourselves in the middle of the Gringots bank. I felt like Hermione when she stood in front of the goblin in the form of Bellatrix Lestrange and coughed softly. Just lovely. From here we continued through the Ministry of Magic to the Forbidden Forest.
The forbidden forest was quite large and you could marvel at hyppogryphons, centaurs and, above all, the large spiders that came down from the ceiling on their webs. Their leader Aragog in particular was of course a gruesome presence. From here we passed various locations from the films such as Belltarix Lestrange's treasure in the dungeon, Umbridge's office, the Malfoy home and then of course to one of my favorite locations in Diagon Alley.
In Diagon Alley I felt like I was in the movie. It's just great to see the shops like Mr. Olivander's wand shop or the Weasley brothers' magic shop up close.
Shortly before the end we also got to see a very special episode, namely how the dragon dismantles the Gringots Bank into its individual parts. Of course it's all a show on the screen, but with the real backdrops in the foreground you could get a little goosebumps. Last but not least, we came to a large hall in which a huge model of Hogwarts was set up. I would estimate about 6 meters in circumference and 3 meters high. Many scenes from a bird's eye view of Hogwarts were filmed here. Really very impressive when you stand in front of it.
But that was it for our visit to the Harry Potter Studios. After about 5 hours and with hundreds of great new impressions, we headed back to downtown London.
Anyone who is ever in London, regardless of whether they are a Harry Potter fan or not, should definitely not miss this tour. A real highlight is waiting for you.

herzlich willkommen zum zweiten Teil der fantastischenReise durch die Harry Potter Studios in Watford bei London.
Nachdem wir uns nun also nach der Hälfte der Tour etwas ausgeruht hatten und die tollen Eindrücke langsam anfingen zu verarbeiten wollten wir natürlich auch die weiteren Sets begutachten. und es stand ja noch so einiges aus den Harry Potter Filmen aus, das wir noch nicht gesehen hatten. Und gleich in der nächsten Halle gab es für uns das nächste Highlight, den Hogwarts Express! In Originalgröße mit dampfendem Schornstein. Man konnte durch den ganzen Zug gehen und jedes Abteil war mit Requisiten aus den Filmen schön hergerichtet.
Von hier gelangten wir in den freien Innenhof und gönnten uns direkt noch ein Butterbier in der Sonne. Dabei betrachteten wir den Nachtbus mit dem Harry einmal durch ganz London unterwegs war und gelangten dann zum Privet Drive, dem Zuhause der Dursleys. Auch hier konnten wir alle Zimmer aus den Filmen ansehen und konnten sogar den Wirbelsturm der Briefe mit Harrys Einladung nach Hogwarts mitverfolgen. Ebenso wie die zum Ballon mutierte Tante Petunia die im Esszimer schwebte.
Wieder draußen kamen wir nun zum Gewächshaus, wo die kleinen Alraunen heran gezüchtet wurden. Und wer die filme kennt, weiß, dass das mitunter ganz schön laut werden kann. Und tatsächlich konnte man die kleinen Alraunen aus der Erde hervor ziehen und diese stimmten ihr bekanntes Geschrei aus den Filmen an. Einfach klasse gemacht.
Auch die Brücke, die im letzten Teil der Saga so spektakulär in die Luft gesprengt wurde, konnten wir anschauen aber leider nicht selbst darüber gehen, da sie gesperrt war. Wieder im Inneren der Hallen standen wir plötzlich mitten drin in der Bank Gringots. Ich kam mir vor wie Hermine als Sie in gestalt von Bellatrix Lestrange vor dem Kobold stand und leise hüstelte. Einfach herrlich. Von hier aus ging es weiter durchs Zaubereiministerium hin zum verbotenen Wald.
Der verbotene Wald war recht groß und man konnte Hyppogreife, Zentauren und vor allem die großen Spinnen bestaunen, die an ihren Spinnfäden von der Decke herab kamen. Speziell deren Anführer Aragog war natürlich eine schaurige Erscheinung. Von hier aus kamen wir noch an diversen Schaupätzen aus den Filmen vorbei wie Belltarix Lestrange Schatz im verlies, Umbridges Büro, dem Zuhause der Malfoys und dann natürlich zu einem meiner Lieblingsschauplätze der Winkelgasse.
In der Winkelgasse fühlte ich mich direkt wie im Film. Einfach toll, die Geschäfte wie Mr. Olivanders Zauberstabladen oder den Zaubershop der Weasley Brüder aus der Nähe ganz in echt zu sehen.
Kurz vor Schluss bekamen wir dann auch noch eine ganz besondere Einlage zu sehen, nämlich wie der Drache die Gringots Bank in ihre Einzelteile zerlegt. Klar natürlich alles Show auf der Leinwand aber mit den echten Kulissen im Vordergrund konnte man schon ein wenig Gänsehaut bekommen. Zu guter letzt kamen wir in einen großen Saal in dem ein riesiges Model von Hogwarts aufgebaut war. Ich würde schätzen ca. 6 meter im Umfang und 3 Meter hoch. Hier wurden viele Szenen aus der Vogelperspektive von Hogwarts gedreht. Wirklich sehr beeindruckend wenn man davor steht.
Aber das war es dann auch mit unserem Besuch in den harry Potter Studios. nach ungefähr 5 Stunden und mit hunderten toller neuer Eindrücke machten wir uns wieder auf zurück in die Innenstadt von London.
Wer einmal in London ist, egal ob Harry Potter Fan oder nicht, sollte sich diese Tour auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen. Ein wirkliches Highlight wartet auf Euch.
