Fervedouro do Buritizinho - Swimming in a Pool of Champagne!

Hello everyone!

"Boiling Water": that's the literal meaning of the portuguese word "Fervedouro". But, deep in the Brazilian Savanna, it means a totally different thing.

Fervedouros are small springs that are scattered across the dry savanna, creating beautiful oasis in the middle of the sand. Swimming in these springs is a unique experience, because the water gurgles up from ruptures in the earth; and, as those ruptures are really small, the pressure of the water is incredibly strong, with enough strenght to push a person back to the surface. It's like swimming in a pool of Champagne or Sparkling Water!!!

Here are some of the pics that me and my wife took in the "Fervedouro do Buritizinho", the smallest (and most beautiful!) of these springs!
