Discovering a wonder by mistake

Hello, friends. I don't know if this has ever happened to you; I visit the city of Trinidad on a daily basis, and I never get to know it. Well, that happened to me the other day, when I was surprised to come across the Church of Santa Ana, a historic place located on the edge of the historic center of the city.

It turns out that this religious antiquity was built in 1719 in Trinidad. It is made of mud and its roof was originally made of guano. Although, at the moment it is in ruins. Although you can still see some of its former splendor.

But it is not only the church. Just in front and next to the church is the Plaza Santa Ana. A simple place, but very cozy and pleasant. The cobblestone streets that surround this place, give an exotic complement.

In this square you can appreciate the monument to Isidoro Armenteros Muñoz, who was a Cuban patriot born in Trinidad who joined the Venezuelan Narciso Lopez and conspired against the Spanish colony to make Cuba independent. Therefore, it has a historical significance for the city. A place that captivates for its beauty and tranquility.

What surprised me most about all this is that, despite being in ruins, the church and the square still retain that essence of times past. And, honestly, I love that. I consider myself a lover of history and old places, so I enjoyed this place, even if it is not in the best possible condition.

So if you want to enjoy colonial places that reflect the authenticity of bygone eras, take a walk through the Santa Ana Church and its Plaza. I promise you will feel the awe of discovering something new, even if it is centuries old. It is amazing to see clay structures more than 300 years old. It was pure chance to find this place, but a luck and joy to have done so.
