All around the world most are still in lockdown; here in South Africa we're still not allowed on the beaches or in the parks; apparently we can walk on the promenade but dare not step onto the beach!
I however do have loads of memories so have been digging in the archives and will take you on a walk in my son's garden in Johannesburg. He jokingly said to me when this virus started that we may have a Skype Christmas this year!
Let's hope that we will indeed be able to travel inter-provincially for leisure by then as we promised our oldest son that we would spend Christmas with them in their little tranquil haven this year!

This spiky succulent not only has excellent economic value in the medicinal and cosmetic markets but also culturally as early civilizations discovered its medicinal value eons ago.
Mother Hen prancing around with her little chicks, black and white ones; not sure what she's been up to with mixed hatchlings;)
One cannot believe that you're only a stone's throw from the city as it feels like you're out in the countryside with all the properties on large sprawling pieces of land with massive trees. The area still is zoned agricultural, yet there are no such activities that I could see around there.
The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is just around the corner but of course with Covid19 all racetrack events have been cancelled.

Johannesburg in winterime is bitterly cold, so we try to visit during summertime.
The quaint thatch roof cottage my son and his girlfriend lives in always looks welcoming; during wintertime the fireplace starts crackling as soon as the sun sets!
During summer everything comes to life again with the foliage on the trees back and the landscape turning green again.
The Weeping Willow tree gracefully shows off its beauty.
Tall and proud trees have been standing here for many years already.
A beautiful horse that our younger son co-owns is stabled not far from here - this horse comes from a proud lineage and has quite a regal name, Lord Melbourne.
This has been my walk down memory lane once again as we're still in lockdown, for @tattoodjay's WednesdayWalk.
A MakeMeSmile now especially for you @elizacheng...
Dash the Cat is King of the Castle in my son's home, sitting atop his throne keeping a watchful eye on his subjects:) Not sure what he does with that scrubbing brush!
