Amigo Cafe and Viewdeck

Last month, me and some friends spent a weekend at Amigo Cafe and Viewdeck which was located in Bacnotan, La Union.  This is a cafe that was a pleasant surprise for it was in the midst of nature.

Our visit to Amigo Cafe and Viewdeck is for #BeautifulSunday and #SublimeSunday.  #BeautifulSunday is hosted by @ace108
and #SublimeSunday is an initiative of @c0ff33a.

After picking up @naniplayer and @bloghound, we then headed to the place relying on Google map for it was all our first time to go there.  This place is far from the center and along the way you get to see the scenery change from fields to mountains.  From the main road, we took another fork in the road that leads us to the place passing by several cafes, a resort and garden along the way.  The road is a one way path.  Vehicles had to find a way to let each other pass.

Finally, we reached the place in no time.

It was a lovely placed nestled among trees, plants, flowers all around.  It was easy to like this place right away.  What a refreshing place to be.

We parked by the toilets and that sign had us chuckling for we find it funny.  The trees provided a lot of shade and we explored the place right away.  We didn't waste time taking photos.

There is a sign by the gate where fees are listed.  Entrance fee is PHP25 for non-diners.  If you are there for the view and taking photos only, maybe that's what that is for.  Since we were there for lunch, we didn't have to pay for the entrance fee. There were also lots of swings and hammocks around the throughout the property.  The hammocks were wet though from the rain the day before.  I find one that wasn't that wet where I had a photo.

Signs direct you to different areas in the property such as the two viewdecks, the huts for accommodations, the picnic areas, the cacao farm, etc.  There's also a map where Amigo Cafe is located and the other cafes and other destinations.  There were falls too but it was far from Amigo so we didn't plan to go.  Maybe next time.

I found out from their page Amigo Cafe and Viewdeck that they just harvested cacao and guests were welcome to do so.  When we were there, the cacaos were not yet ready for picking.

This is the first viewdeck/tree house.  Incredible verdant view with a hammock and table and you can seat enjoying the view, your meal and your time.  At first we didn't know there was another view deck on the other side of the property but we checked that one too.

We passed by the huts for accommodations and walked the short trail which was amongst the mahogany trees.

There are more hammocks along the way and at the viewdeck itself.  One of concern though are mosquitoes.  We didn't stay there for long because of those.

We then headed back to where our companions are and did what we came here for which is lunch.

We would have wanted to sit and eat in one of the viewdecks but it is not advisable for more than five so we chose to sit in one of the open huts instead where you get to sit on cushions on the floor.  There are other tables around the area where there are seats if you prefer.

Although they have menu, they also have a board by the counter/kitchen where everything is written.  We settled for rice meals, coffee, frappe, corndog, onion rings and vegetable salad.

The vegetable salads were so good for they were freshly picked from the cafe's garden.  Just looking at this photos again made me crave for some.  All the food were okay and satisfying enough.  I think the whole place made it all more enjoyable to eat.

It was such a great place to spend your time with friends and enjoy a meal or drinks at Amigo Cafe and Viewdeck.  We would have wanted to stay longer but better things await that day so we had to leave.

I noticed that they served several coffees from where we are - the Cordilleras.  That's great to know that local products are being supported which is supposed to be.

Whenever you are in La Union, consider visiting cafes like Amigo Cafe and Viewdeck located at Casiaman, Bacnotan, La Union.

Here's a screenshot from pinmapple.  I really can't give proper direction to the place for we relied on Google Maps to get there.  Asking the locals will be of great help too.

Before I end, this is for my #MarketFriday entry as well and sharing this butterfly on a flower for #alwaysaflower. #MarketFriday is brought to you by @dswigle
