One of the things that excited me most about our fall trip south was the idea of going to visit Villa La Angostura in the province of Neuquén. Although all of southern Argentina is beautiful, I had the opportunity to see a little of this great place in the summer and I fell in love with it. I think that most people are attracted to Bariloche tourism without knowing that a few kilometers away they can continue discovering more great landscapes. Luckily, my friend and I took advantage of this knowledge and decided to go further, because incredible landscapes deserve to be seen as many times as possible ❤️.
Una de las cosas que más me emocionaba sobre nuestro viaje otoñal al sur era la idea de ir a visitar Villa La Angostura en la provincia de Neuquén. Si bien todo el sur de Argentina es hermoso, tuve la oportunidad de conocer un poco de este grandioso lugar en el verano y me quedé enamorada de él. Creo que la mayoría de las personas se sienten atraídas por el turismo de Bariloche sin saber que a unos cuántos kilómetros pueden seguir descubriendo más paisajes geniales. Por suerte, mi amiga y yo aprovechamos este conocimiento y decidimos ir más allá, porque los paisajes increíbles merecen ser vistos todas las veces que sea posible ❤️.
Originally, our plan was to get off the plane in Bariloche, go to Villa La Angostura and then return to Bariloche to be closer to the airport. However, when we checked the bus schedules we saw that this was not possible because we lost many hours in between, so first we stayed in Bariloche and then went to Villa. Either way, we were going to do both, so this didn't matter as much. From the Bariloche bus terminal in Río Negro we took a bus during midday that took us to our destination in Neuquén province in approximately 3 hours. And along the way we were able to enjoy the beautiful landscapes as we passed ❣️.
Originalmente, nuestro plan consistía en bajar del avión en Bariloche, ir hasta Villa La Angostura y luego regresar a Bariloche para estar más cerca del aeropuerto. Sin embargo, al consultar los horarios de los micros vimos que esto no era posible porque en el medio perdíamos muchas horas, así que primero nos quedamos en Bariloche y luego fuimos a Villa. Sea como sea, íbamos a hacer las dos cosas, así que esto no importó tanto. Desde la terminal de omnibus de Bariloche en Río Negro tomamos un micro durante el mediodía que en 3 horas aproximadamente nos dejó en nuestro destino en la provincia de Neuquén. Y durante el camino pudimos ir disfrutando de los lindos paisajes al pasar ❣️.
You don't have to go far from the bus station to see the mountains: the city of Villa La Angostura already has them in sight from wherever you are. We had also booked another hostel there, so after leaving our luggage, we decided to go out to take advantage of the hours of sunshine we had left. But not before stopping by the bakery to buy something that would work as lunch 😀.
No hace falta ir muy lejos de la terminal de micros para ver las montañas: la ciudad de Villa La Angostura ya las tiene a la vista desde cualquier punto que estes. Ahí también habíamos reservado otro hostel, así que después de dejar nuestro equipaje, decidimos salir para aprovechar las horas de sol que nos quedaban. No sin antes pasar por la panadería a comprar algo que funcionara como almuerzo 😃.
From what we could find out, we had a short walk to do just 3 km from the city center and a bus line took us there. It was the area of Lake Correntoso, which could be accessed after a short walk starting from the route. Although I like to walk, when there is some transportation that brings you a little closer to the destination I'm quite happy 😅.
Por lo que pudimos averiguar, teníamos un paseo corto para hacer a tan solo 3 km del centro de la ciudad y un colectivo de línea nos acercaba hasta ahí. Se trataba de la zona del Lago Correntoso, al que se podía acceder después de una pequeña caminata partiendo desde la ruta. Si bien me gusta caminar, cuando hay algún transporte que te acerca un poco hasta el destino me alegra bastante 😅.
Just like what happened to us on the walk in the Bariloche forest, the autumn colors were also clearly visible in this province. The road that led you to the lake was actually a street busy with cars and was quite busy, but it was easy terrain and all downhill. It only took us twenty minutes to complete the walk to the coast 😃.
Al igual que lo que nos pasó en la caminata en el bosque de Bariloche, en esta provincia también se veían bien marcados los colores del otoño. El camino que te conducía al lago era en realidad una calle transitada por autos y tenía bastante movimiento, pero era un terreno fácil y todo en bajada. Solo nos tomó veinte minutos completar el recorrido hasta la costa 😃.
One of the things we went to see on this tour was the supposed "shortest river in the world." It is literally advertised like this in the tourist brochures and of course it serves to attract the curious. On my summer walk we visited this place, but it was quite late and my camera had no more battery, so I couldn't take any photos. So returning to this place was like having a second chance to photograph it ❣️.
Una de las cosas que fuimos a ver en este paseo fue el supuesto "río más corto del mundo". Literalmente está pomocionado así en la folletería turística y por supuesto sirve para atraer a los curiosos. En mi paseo de verano visitamos este lugar, pero fue bastante tarde y mi cámara no tenía mas batería, por lo que no pude sacar ninguna foto. Así que volver a este lugar fue como tener una segunda oportunidad para retratarlo ❣️.
This river, called Río Correntoso, is very picturesque due to its turquoise color and the small white bridge that crosses it. Its main attraction is how short it is: its total length is only 100 meters and it is the connection between the large Lake Nahuel Huapi and Lake Correntoso. I swear the turquoise color of the water was as seen in the photos and even more beautiful. When I saw photos of Villa La Angostura and the water of those colors I thought they were edited photos, but after seeing these landscapes with my own eyes, I verified that it is like that in real life 😃.
Este río, llamado Río Correntoso, es muy pintoresco debido a su color turquesa y al pequeño puente blanco que lo atraviesa. Su principal atractivo es lo corto que es: su longitud total es de solo 100 metros y es la conexión entre en gran Lago Nahuel Huapi y el Lago Correntoso. Les juro que el color turquesa del agua era como se ve en las fotos y aún más hermoso. Cuando veía fotos de Villa La Angostura y el agua de esos colores pensaba que eran fotos editadas, pero después de ver estos paisajes con mis propios ojos, comprobé que es así en la vida real 😃.
After doing a little research on the internet about the "shortest rivers in the world", I find that there are even shorter ones, less than 15 meters long. Well, this will not exactly be the shortest river in the world, but at least it is in Argentina and because of its beauty it is totally special. From its bridge, you can cross to the other side to walk along a path along the lake or you can simply stay there for a while contemplating the landscape and its incredible water 💘.
Después de hacer una pequeña investigación en internet sobre los "ríos más cortos del mundo", me encuentro con que hay otros incluso más cortos, de menos de 15 metros de largo. Bueno, este no será exactamente el río más corto del mundo, pero al menos lo es de Argentina y por su hermosura es totalmente especial. Desde su puente, se puede cruzar hacia el otro lado para caminar por un sendero costeando el lago o simplemente se puede quedar un rato ahi contemplando el paisaje y su agua increíble 💘.
Something that I found interesting about the bridge is that there was a sign that said "no jumping off the bridge." During my visit in the summer I could see how people ignored this sign and jumped anyway, perhaps without considering how dangerous it could be. Having that color, the depth of the river is deceptive, because the water is so crystal clear that you don't know if the stones are close or far from the water level. I just hope there never is an accident, but at least the warning is there 😶.
Algo que me pareció interesante del puente es que había un cartel que decía "prohibido arrojarse del puente". En mi visita en el verano pude ver como la gente ignoraba este cartel y se tiraban igual, quizás sin considerar lo peligroso que podía ser. Al tener ese color, la profundidad del río es engañosa, porque el agua es tan cristalina que no sabes si las piedras estan cerca o lejos del nivel del agua. Solo espero que nunca haya ningún accidente, pero al menos la advertencia está 😶.
I think that Villa La Angostura has all the necessary elements to be as recognized as Bariloche, it just perhaps lacks some publicity among tourists, at least foreigners. This place has really good landscapes and interesting things to see, so it represents a perfect complement to your trip around Lake Nahuel Huapi. I was grateful to be able to see this work of nature once again and luckily, I was moved like the first time 💖.
Creo que Villa La Angostura tiene todos los elementos necesarios para ser tan reconocida como Bariloche, solo que quizás le falta algo de publicidad entre los turistas, al menos los extranjeros. Este lugar tiene paisajes realmente buenos y cosas interesantes para ver, así que representa un complemento perfecto de tu viaje en los alrededores del Lago Nahuel Huapi. Yo estuve agradecida por poder ver una vez más esta obra de la naturaleza y por suerte, me conmoví como la primera vez 💖.
