National Art Gallery
Brief history, when the museum was created in 1974, it was born without its own space, and was initially located in the headquarters of the Museum of Fine Arts, a structure built by the architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva in 1938. In the course of time, the gallery was expanding and necessarily needed its own space. It was then in 1976 when the Galería de Arte Nacional got its own headquarters, built by the architect Carlos Gómez de Llarena and Moisés Benacerraf, becoming the largest museum in Venezuela and one of the most prestigious in Latin America.

Breve historia, cuando el museo fue creado en los años de 1974, nació sin espacio propio, y en principio fue ubicado en la sede del Museo de Bellas Artes, una estructura construida por el arquitecto Carlos Raúl Villanueva en los años de 1938. En el transcurso del tiempo, la galería fue expandiéndose y obligatoriamente necesitaba una sede propia. Fue entonces en 1976 cuando, La Galería de Arte Nacional, logra su propia sede, construida por el arquitecto Carlos Gómez de Llarena y Moisés Benacerraf, convirtiéndose en el museo, con más superficie en Venezuela y uno de los más prestigioso de Latinoamérica.

It houses the largest collection of works by various artists of Venezuela, with the aim of exhibition, conservation and dissemination of art in Venezuela. There are many times when I have had the opportunity to visit it, to witness the great works that are exhibited in its imposing rooms, I have been able to tour its facilities and you can see the size of the museum, the grandiose building is divided into three bodies, has three floors and rectangular rooms that are located to the west.
Alberga la mayor colección de obras de diversos artistas de Venezuela, teniendo como objetivo la exposición, conservación y difusión del arte en Venezuela. Existen muchos momentos en que he tenido la oportunidad de visitarlo, para presenciar las grandes obras que se exhiben en sus imponentes salas, he podido recorrer sus instalaciones y se puede comprobar la dimensión del museo, el grandioso edificio está dividido en tres cuerpos, cuenta con tres plantas y salas rectangulares que se encuentran ubicadas al oeste.
The National Art Gallery has a multiplicity of permanent exhibitions, such as bronze sculptures, exhibited in its courtyards, in its main floor the painting of “Miranda en la Carraca” and other renowned artists, other sculptures of great magnitude are exhibited in some of its rooms, it is only a sample of the repertoire of the very valuable and permanent collection that the museum has.
La Galería de Arte Nacional cuenta con una multiplicidad de exposiciones permanente, como son las esculturas de bronce, expuestas en sus patios, en su planta principal el cuadro de "Miranda en la Carraca" y de otros artistas reconocidos, otras esculturas de gran magnitud se exhiben en algunas de sus salas, es solo una muestra, del repertorio de la colección muy valiosa y permanente con que cuenta el museo.
As the gallery's objectives include the dissemination of art, it always holds exhibitions of renowned national and international artists who present their works to decorate the exhibition halls of the National Art Gallery. Every time I have the opportunity to come, I admire the beauty and charm of the art of each artist that is presented with a different style, who capture on their canvas a reality, a fantasy, or a desire that they need to express.
Como la galería plantea en sus objetivos difundir el arte, mantiene siempre exposiciones de artistas reconocidos, nacionales e internacionales que se presentan con sus obras para engalanar las salas de exhibición de La Galería de Arte Nacional. De nuevo estoy de vuelta en el museo y quiero comunicarles mi experiencia, cada vez que tengo la oportunidad de venir admiro la belleza y el encanto del arte de cada artista que se presenta con un estilo diferente, que plasman en su lienzo una realidad, una fantasía, o un deseo que necesitan expresar.
In this visit, I was struck by some paintings that recall some movies, scary, adventure, action and drama, comics and mythological characters, which emphasize the favorite heroes of our childhood, and lead us to fantasize about that pretend world, and something that catches the attention of this artist is that in all his works reflects the image of a puppy. This well-known artist is Carlos Madriz, Venezuelan plastic artist.
En esta visita, me impactaron algunas pinturas que rememoran algunas películas, de miedo, aventuras, acción y drama, los comics y personajes mitológicos, donde se recalcan los héroes favoritos de nuestra niñez, y nos llevan a fantasear por ese mundo fingido, y algo que llama la atención de este artista plástico es que en todas sus obras refleja la imagen de un perrito. Este conocido artista es Carlos Madriz, artista plástico venezolano.
Other rooms display archaeological pieces, handcrafted objects and figures, rugs, musical instruments, which tell the story of our cultural history. The museum is designed to display and exhibit pieces of any size.
Otras salas muestran piezas arqueológicas, objetos y figuras artesanales, tapetes, instrumentos musicales, que hacen un recuento de nuestra historia cultural. El museo está pensado para mostrar y exhibir piezas de cualquier tamaño.
The National Art Gallery is located on Mexico Avenue, between the Bellas Artes and Parque Carabobo stations of the Caracas Metro. If you stay at the Bellas Artes station, you are half a block away, a very central place to arrive, I invite you to travel through the world of culture and the history of nations.
La Galería de Arte Nacional, está ubicada en la avenida México, entre las estaciones Bellas Artes y Parque Carabobo del Metro de Caracas, Si te quedas en la estación de Bellas artes, estás a media cuadra, un lugar muy céntrico para llegar, te invito a viajar por el mundo de la cultura y la historia de las naciones.
Needless to say that I spent a special day and had good experiences in the cultural world. The National Art Gallery is great with ample spaces, and many entertainment areas and spaces to have a coffee that invite you to socialize.
Demás esta decirles que pasé un día especial y obtuve buenas experiencias en el mundo cultural. La Galería de Arte Nacional estupenda con amplios espacios, y muchas áreas de entretenimiento y espacios para tomarse un café que invitan a la tertulia.
