Flagler Beach Restoration Project

This weekend, I was able to get out to our local beach which is undergoing a restoration project to dredge and restore (widen) miles of beautiful beach.
This is Flagler Beach, in Flagler, Florida, USA. I believe a new spot for Worldmappin!

It starts with a view of the pier, then expands out to show the construction in-progress.

I was amazed to see them out working on a Sunday. It is unbelievable how fast they are able to progress up the beach. I have a much longer video I'll upload next week when my storage limits open up.

Looking out across the Atlantic Ocean.

Looking North, this part not finished with the restoration yet. It will be interesting to see how much it is expanded in the next week or two.

Looking South in the Picture Below, you can see a portion that has been completed. Wow, what a difference. Yes, the beaches are a bit empty today (the way I like them!) It's a red flag day with currents and rip tides, and about an hour away from storm hitting so it's nice and clear. I did get several high wind notices from my drone, but it handles them very well even though gusting up to 30 mph or more at times.

In the picture Below you can clearly see the old beach (reddish brown) and the new sand more gray being dredged up and placed with bulldozers. What a huge difference. I can hardly wait to see the "after" pier pictures when completed.
