The third day of our trip started very early since we had to wake up around 6 in the morning to be ready to leave at 7. From the port where the ship docked to the city of Rome, it took us about an hour on the bus, but finally we arrived at ¨ROME¨
El tercer día de nuestro viaje comenzó bien temprano ya que nos tuvimos que despertar sobre las 6 de la mañana para a las 7 estar ya listo para salir. Desde el puerto donde atracó el barco hasta la ciudad de Roma tardamos sobre una hora en el autobús, pero al fin llegamos a ¨ROMA¨
To speak of Rome is to speak of history since its civilization came to occupy all of southern Europe and have left an architectural mark in all the countries where they settled.
Hablar de Roma es hablar de historia ya que su civilización llegó a ocupar todo el Sur de Europa y han dejado huella arquitectónica por todos los países donde estuvieron asentados.
The first place we visit is Vatican City. For those who don't know, here are some curiosities:
_Vatican City is the smallest country in the world
_It is located within Rome (Italy), so it is a country within another country.
_It is the seat of the Holy Church
_There are no prisons in the country, in case you are arrested and imprisoned, you will serve time in an Italian prison
_The pope is protected by the Swiss Guard.
_They have the shortest train track in the world.
_The Vatican has a telescope in Arizona (United States).
El primer sitio que visitamos es Ciudad del Vaticano. Para el que no lo sepa aquí les dejo unas curiosidades:
_la Ciudad del Vaticano es el país mas pequeño del mundo
_Está situado dentro de Roma (Italia), osea que es un país dentro de otro país.
_Es la sede de la Santa Iglesia
_No hay carceles en el país, en caso de que seas detenido y encarcelado, cumplirás prisión en una cárcel italiana
_El papa está protegido por la Guardia Suiza.
_Tienen la via de tren mas corta del mundo.
_El Vaticano posee un telescopio en Arizona (Estado Unidos).

Upon arrival you find the imposing Plaza de San Pedro from where the Pope gives mass on some special days among a crowd of people. When we went to visit him, the Pope was out of the country but he did a mass live and it could be seen from some giant screens that were placed in the square.
Al llegar te encuentras con la imponente plaza de San Pedro desde donde el papa da la misa algunos dias especiales entre una multitud de gente. Cuando nosotros fuimos a visitarlo el Papa estaba fuera del país pero hizo una misa en directo y se podia ver desde unas pantallas gigantes que había colocadas en la plaza.
The next thing I'm going to go through is a battery of photos of the interior of the Church of San Pedro. I only ask you to take a look one by one and observe the beauty of each of the photos. Everywhere you look there is beauty and works of art.
Lo siguiente que voy a pasar es una batería de fotos del interior de la Iglesia de San Pedro. Solo os pido que echéis un vistazo una por una y observeis la belleza que tiene cada una de las fotos. Mires por donde lo mires hay belleza y obras de arte.
I remember that there were many people everywhere. During the entire visit there are security people everywhere, the women have to cover their shoulders to enter the basilica and they are very careful that it is strictly complied with.
This photo that I show next, are the breathing sewers that lead to the catacombs, that is, to the basements of the Vatican, where they say that all the treasure and the most secret writings of the Holy Church are kept. From time to time if you looked you could see people walking downstairs. Apparently there are some visits to the catacombs but they are very exclusive and difficult to get.
Recuerdo que había mucha gente por todos lados. Durante toda la visita hay personas de seguridad por todos lados, las mujeres tienen que cubrirse los hombros para entrar dentro de la basilica y están muy pendiente que se cumpla rigurosamente.
Esta foto que muestro a continuación, son las alcantarillas de respiración que da a las catacumbas, es decir, a los sótanos del Vaticano, donde dicen que se guardan todo el tesoro y los escritos mas secretos de la Santa Iglesia. De vez en cuando si te fijabas se veían pasar gente por abajo caminando. Al parecer hay unas visitas que se hacen a las catacumbas pero son muy exclusivas y difíciles de conseguir.

Then, we leave Vatican City and continue walking through Rome, the whole city is full of statues, columns and ancient buildings. You seem to be walking through the ancient city of Rome, almost all of the old part of the city still retains the old cobblestone floor. These are some photos of the walk we took
Luego, salimos de Ciudad del Vaticano y seguimos caminando por Roma, toda la ciudad está llena de estatuas, columna y edificios antiguos. Parece estar andando por la antigua ciudad de Roma, casi toda la parte antigua de la ciudad aún conserva el suelo de adoquines antiguo. Estas son algunas fotos del paseo que dimos
At last we arrived at one of the most desired places in all of Rome, but we were disappointed, unfortunately the famous fountain (Fontana di Trevi) was under construction. So we saw only a small part of the source. but at least we were able to throw our coin to make the wish, jejejejeje.
Al fin llegamos a uno de los sitios mas deseados de toda Roma, pero nos llevamos una decepción, desafortunadamente la famosa fuente (Fontana di Trevi) estaba en obras. Así que vimos solo una pequeña parte de la fuente. pero al menos pudimos tirar nuestra moneda para pedir el deseo, jejejeje.
Here I leave you a photo of what the fountain looks like when it has been restored a few months after having gone. The truth is that it is a beauty.
Aquí os dejo una foto de como es la fuente cuando se ha terminado de restaurar algunos meses después de haber ido. La verdad es que es una preciosidad.

Our day back on the ship ends almost at sunset and we barely had time to change and take a dip in the ship's pool.
Termina nuestro día de vuelta al barco casi al atardecer y a penas nos dio tiempo a cambiarnos y darnos un chapuzón en la piscina del barco.
