Embarking on a full-day island hopping adventure is like unlocking a treasure trove of breathtaking destinations. And guess what? We've got an island that kicks off our escapade with a bang. Let me introduce you to LA MANOK ISLAND, a slice of paradise that's got everyone talking, even if it's tangled up in a jurisdictional puzzle. But that's not stopping us from making it our very first stop.
Picture this: a pint-sized, uninhabited haven nestled between Carnaza Island, Daanbantayan, Cebu, and Esperanza, Masbate. It's like the heart of a geographical tug-of-war. But before we dive into my adventures there, let's rewind a bit.

Back when I was just a kid, my grandpa would share tales of his fishing escapades around La Manok Island. Those stories painted a picture of fish-filled waters, and he even spilled the beans about how the island was a pit stop for hardworking fishermen.
So, armed with those tales and fueled by curiosity, I've made not one, but two trips to this hidden gem. Our island-hopping began at the crack of dawn, around 6 AM, at Malapascua Port. We hopped aboard a spacious boat, practically a floating party zone with ample room to stretch and even catch a nap on the benches.
As we set sail, the waters of the Visayan Sea stretched out before us, a canvas of clear, calm blue. Now, let me spill a little secret – I've got a touch of sea anxiety around these parts. Blame it on the stories of storms and sea tragedies that echoed through my childhood. These waters have a mind of their own, and they're not afraid to show it.
But, after what seemed like an eternity of waves and blue, our island paradise finally emerged on the horizon. The joy that bubbled up within us was almost overwhelming as we watched the boat gently approach the shore, revealing an underwater world of corals and hidden rocks.
Mother Nature was in her finest form that day, gracing the island with a blindingly bright white hue that even sunglasses couldn't prepare us for.
After docking, it was time to explore. Imagine this: two land masses linked by a stretch of pebbly sand, like a natural bridge that vanishes when the tide decides to show off. Now, the sand might not be the powdery softness of other Cebu beaches, but it's got its own rough-and-tumble charm.
Given its petite size, an hour is more than enough to snap envy-inducing photos and take a refreshing dip. And let's not forget the hidden caves! These secret sanctuaries provide shelter for local fishermen and a cool escape from the tropical sun.
But, and here's the kicker, staying overnight is definitely a no-go. The weather in these parts can change quicker than a girl's mind, and the island isn't exactly equipped with cozy accommodations.
After soaking up an hour of paradise, we said our reluctant goodbyes and set our sights on our next hotspot: the enchanting Carnaza Island. But that's a tale for another time.
So there you have it, a snippet of my island adventure, sprinkled with sunshine, sea breeze, and a dash of island magic. Until we meet again, fellow explorers! 🌴🌊🌞
