Hello, Hivers. How are you? It's been a while since I last shared what's been happening in my life. So, here I am ready to recount my experience from last January. My family and I visited a lovely place in Tabogon, Cebu, my hometown - the Sea Turtle Lagoon Beach Resort.

Initially, I had planned to take a long nap as I had not slept enough due to the spontaneous activities of last December and also because I had my monthly period. However, when I heard the excited chatter of the children saying things like "yay, we're going to the beach!" I quickly get up. I went straight to my mother to confirm if we were indeed going on an outing.

As someone who enjoys being part of the group and dislikes being left alone at home, I eagerly assisted in packing the essentials for our trip to the beach resort. We made sure to bring along plenty of food, extra clothes, water, and other necessities. The anticipation of the outing added to my excitement, and I eagerly contributed to the preparations to ensure we had everything we needed for a memorable day by the sea.

Let's dive into our beach adventure! It's funny how, despite being so close to home, I've never been there before. But you know what? My first time there didn't disappoint. So, let's go and explore!

Entrance

As we reached the Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort, a friendly sign caught our attention, offering clear directions to the entrance. This sign served as a reassuring guide, ensuring our journey to the resort was smooth and filled with excitement.

Views

Here's the view we enjoyed as we made our way to the sea. My nephew became my model for this scene. I found him incredibly adorable as he delighted in touching and pointing at various things that caught his attention, such as the lightballs, stairs, and flowers. His laughter and excitement were contagious, especially when he spotted the monkeys. Yes, there were monkeys there, and they were absolutely adorable.

Sea views

The Sea Turtle Lagoon Beach Resort is a lovely seaside escape with a special touch - big, not so sharp stones along the shore that create a nice setting. These stones make a fun path to the sea, inviting you to walk on them and enjoy the beautiful ocean views.

As you walk towards the water, the big, not so sharp stones under your feet add a bit of excitement to your beach adventure. The mix of the sandy beach and the rocky shore gives the place a unique charm, perfect for exploring and unwinding.

After a dip in the clear water, you can relax on the stony shore, feeling the cool rocks and listening to the calming waves. The natural beauty of the sea, rocks, and sun makes this beach experience unforgettable and unlike any other.

We had a great time swimming in the sea with my brothers and sisters. We didn't feel the heat because we were having so much fun and enjoying the coolness of the ocean. Even though I'm not good at swimming, being short in height, the experience was the best, and that's why I love the sea so much.

After swimming time:

After our enjoyable time in the water, we had the wonderful opportunity to capture memories with the stunning views all around Sea Turtle Lagoon Beach Resort. This place is truly special as it embodies the essence of the resort's name - Sea Turtle Lagoon. The significance of this name becomes apparent as you come across the preserved body of a sea turtle, a captivating feature that enhances the resort's appeal and distinctiveness.

With my family, we took photos against the backdrop of this remarkable preserved body of the sea turtle, signifying our connection to the sea and the captivating marine life that thrives in these waters. We felt a bit sad because we didn't witness the turtles in the sea during our swim. However, we understand the situation, but we were still excited as these turtles are endangered species, especially here in the north, I guess. These pictures not only act as keepsakes of our visit but also as a tribute to the beauty and fascination of the sea turtle lagoon, enriching our experience at the resort with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

How should we navigate to the Sea Turtle Lagoon Beach Resort?

The Sea Turtle Lagoon Beach Resort is located in Villanueva, Camoboan, Tabogon, Cebu, which is around a 3-hour drive from Cebu City. To reach this beautiful destination, you have several options for transportation:

• You can take a bus from the North Bus Terminal to Tabogon, offering a convenient way to get to the resort.

• Another route is to take a bus via the Borbon route, with an estimated fare of approximately 200 pesos, and then switch to a motorcycle or habal-habal to reach the Sea Turtle Lagoon Resort. The motorcycle ride costs only 50 pesos and lasts about 10 minutes from the town center to the resort.

In our case, we opted for our multicab, a common type of small vehicle used for transportation in the Philippines. Our multicab can accommodate up to 17 passengers, with 8 on each side and two seats in the middle, ensuring a comfortable journey, especially for our large group. Additionally, the resort provides a spacious parking lot for easy and convenient parking.

Since we are locals from Tabogon, our travel time to the resort was approximately 31 minutes covering a distance of 19.4 km via the Central Nautical Highway and Access Road from Ilihan to Tabogon Proper.
