Little Hangman

From my kitchen window I can see a peak in the distance. If you look closely you can see tiny little people climbing to the peak. I decided one afternoon to go and be one of those tiny little people.

The peak is called Little Hangman, and sits just beneath Great Hangman. It's the beginning of Exmoor National Park, and is part of the South West Coast Path.

I'm not going to bore you with the first part of the walk down Combe Martin High Street, here's the real start of the walk, at the lovely beach at Combe Martin...

Walking up the car park at the top of the beach we find ourselves at the beginning of Exmoor...

We're following the Coast Path signs all the way, it's difficult to get lost, somebody's pimped the sign too to make it even clearer!

The first part of the pathway finds us climbing upwards surrounded by hedgerows on both sides, no big views, but gives us an opportunity to checkout the plants and flowers that form the landscape...

But after a while we come out into the open, and see our destination in the distance. Below us is Wild Pear Beach, not easily accessible, and a favoured beach for naturists...

We can now look back and see the village below, and congratulate ourselves on how far we've come, we're probably halfway to the top at this point...

Here’s a view looking back down onto Wild Pear beach, with the coastline in the background looking towards Watermouth in the distance...

We're getting closer now, almost at the summit, with our starting point in the village looking very distant...

A sign points us to the top, we can see Great Hangman about a mile away, further along the South West Coast Path...

And we've made it! Here's the view from the top looking down again towards Great Hangman. One day soon I'll be doing this walk again and continuing to this, but for now we'll stop here...

And to finish we've a shot of the other direction, looking towards Watermouth and Ilfracombe. Hope you enjoyed the pics, and thanks for reading...
