Hello community! today I come to tell you about my last trip, one of the things I like to do besides art is travel, discover new customs, flavors and cultures. I personally believe that travel is very useful to feed the soul, solve problems, change perspectives and balance energies, one can find inspiration in some lost town.
Hola comunidad! el día de hoy vengo a contarles sobre mi ultimo viaje, una de las cosas que me gusta hacer además del arte es viajar, conocer nuevas costumbres, sabores y culturas. Personalmente creo que los viajes sirven mucho para alimentar el alma, resolver problemas, cambiar perspectivas y balancear las energías, uno puede encontrar la inspiración en algún pueblito perdido.
Within my country I know places that I would like to record, this time we are going to the department of Lavalleja (in Uruguay we refer to our "states" localities as departments)
Together with my boyfriend and friends we were able to undertake a trip to Minas, Lavalleja Uruguay, a town from which my partner's best friend originated.
Dentro de mi país conozco algunos lugares de los que me gustaría tomar registro, en esta ocasión nos Dirigimos a el departamento de Lavalleja (en Uruguay nos referimos a nuestros "estados" localidades como departamentos)
Junto con mi novio y amigos decidimos emprendernos a Minas, Lavalleja Uruguay, Localidad de la que es originario el Mejor amigo de Mi pareja.
Minas is a small city with about 38,446 inhabitants
known for its mountainous landscape (mountain ranges), its gastronomy festivals and its cement and bottled water industry.
This year in its 35th Edition after so much confinement due to the pandemic, we are part of this beneficial and beautiful festival.
Minas es una pequeña ciudad con unos 38,446 habitantes
conocida por sus paisaje montañoso (sierras) sus festivales gastronomía y su industria de cemento y agua embotellada.
Este año en su 35 Edición luego de tanto confinamiento a causa de la pandemia Formamos parte de este tan benéfico y hermoso festival.
Origins of the "Minas y Abril" Festival| Origenes de el Festival "Minas y Abril"
Dr. Carlos Paravis, trauma doctor at the “Dr. Alfredo Vidal y Fuentes” from the city of Minas, department of Lavalleja, also known by his stage name “Santiago Chalar”, with which he conquered the national scene of popular singing, lived with the
concern about the lack of trauma material for the care of their patients, who in many cases had to travel to the country's capital to achieve their recovery.
In conversation with his companion and poet Santos Inzaurralde, he shared his concern and the need to obtain funds to obtain materials, which he otherwise could not. Thus, in 1985, along with other friends and popular artists who joined the movement in solidarity, among others José Luis "Pepe" Guerra, Carlos Benavidez, Payadora Marta Suint, embarked on that company which they called "Festival Minas and April”, which was a success and its proceeds made it possible to purchase equipment for care in the city: a Schede table, a Podoscope, a Delitala and other instruments for trauma use._
Over time, the Festival acquired its own identity, so linked to its founders, but also to its land, lasting through time and forming part of the identity of a community that year after year unites the gaucho culture, the song and the
solidarity with the Hospital “Dr. Alfredo Vidal y Fuentes” and today also with the Peripheral Health Care Centers, allowing – with the proceeds – to invest in both infrastructure and health equipment that has made it possible to develop constant improvements in patient care.
A wonderful Festival full of breadth, tolerance, healthy and respectful coexistence among all those who are part of it, which honors its creators, building a better place for future generations.

Dr. Carlos Paravis, médico traumatólogo del Hospital “Dr. Alfredo Vidal y Fuentes” de la ciudad de Minas, departamento de Lavalleja, conocido también por su nombre artístico “Santiago Chalar”, con el que conquistó la escena nacional del canto popular, convivía con la
preocupación de la falta de material traumatológico para la asistencia de sus pacientes, quienes debían en muchos casos trasladarse a la capital del país para lograr su recuperación.
En conversación con su compañero y poeta Santos Inzaurralde, compartió su preocupación y la necesidad de conseguir fondos para obtener materiales, que de otra forma no lograba. Así en el año 1985, junto a otros amigos y artistas populares que se sumaron solidariamente a la movida, entre otros José Luis “Pepe” Guerra, Carlos Benavidez, la Payadora Marta Suint, se embarcaron en dicha empresa a la que llamaron “Festival Minas y Abril”, la cual resultó un éxito y su recaudación permitió adquirir equipos para la atención en la ciudad: una mesa de Schede, un Podoscopio, una Delitala y otros instrumentos de uso traumatológico._
Con el paso del tiempo el Festival fue adquiriendo una identidad propia, tan ligada a sus fundadores, pero también a su tierra, perdurando a través del tiempo y formando parte de la identidad de una comunidad que año a año une la cultura gauchesca, el canto y la
solidaridad para con el Hospital “Dr. Alfredo Vidal y Fuentes” y hoy también con los Centros de Atención Periférica de Salud, permitiendo – con lo obtenido – invertir tanto en infraestructura como en equipamiento sanitario que ha posibilitado desarrollar mejoras constantes en la atención de sus pacientes.
Una maravillosa Fiesta cargada de amplitud, de tolerancia, de convivencia sana y respetuosa entre todos los que forman parte de ella, que rinde honor a sus creadores, construyendo un lugar mejor para futuras generaciones.

After approximately two hours of travel from the capital
we arrived in the city of mines also known for its famous handmade alfajores 🤪
Luego de aproximadamente dos horas de
viaje desde la capital llegamos a la ciudad de minas tambien conocida por sus famosos alfajores artesanales 🤪
The alfajores from the Sierras de Minas have the Guinness record for creating a giant-sized alfajor. The treat carried 60 kilograms of wheat flour, 2,000 egg whites for the meringue, 212 kilograms of dulce de leche and 5 kilograms of honey!
Los alfajores de las sierras de minas tienen el récord guinnes por crear un alfajor tamaño gigante. La golosina llevó 60 kilogramos de harina de trigo, 2.000 claras de huevos para el merengue, 212 kilogramos de dulce de leche y 5 kilogramos de miel!
After settling down we went to the festival, the first day the grill came out Rock Nacional, After some "wines with Strawberry" a distinctive drink of the place which consists of a fermentation of wine with strawberries, we got quite euphoric!
Luego de establecernos fuimos al festival, el primer día la grilla incluía Rock Nacional, Luego de unos "vinos con Frutilla" bebida distintiva del lugar la cual consiste en una fermentación de vino con frutilla, nos pusimos bastante eufóricos !

En el festival había gente de todas partes coreando canciones de bandas uruguayas como son Cuatro pesos de Propina, Buitres y Notevagustar
At the festival there were people from all over singing songs by Uruguayan bands such as Cuatro pesos de Propina, Buitres and Notevagustar.

Disfrutamos de algunos platillos del Lugar, Golosinas y paseamos por la feria.
El segundo día fue de música mas tropical y folclórica, ballet folclórico y el tercero hubo jineteadas típicas de la cultura gauchesca la música y el ambiente familiar dieron un ambiente
muy agradable a todas las instancias, la gente muy respetuosa y directa el minuano es de mentalidad recta y clasica a mi parecer fue agradable la intstancia muy llena de naturaleza, tubimos despues del rock la posiblilidad de descansar junto al rio. 🏞️
Recomiendo este festival nos divertimos mucho!😄

We enjoyed some dishes from the Place, Sweets and walked through the fair.
The second day was of more tropical and folkloric music, folkloric ballet and the third there were horseback riding typical of the gauchesca culture, the music and the family atmosphere gave an atmosphere
very pleasant in all instances, the people are very respectful and direct, the minuano has a straight and classic mentality, in my opinion it was pleasant, the instance very full of nature, after the rock we had the possibility of resting by the river.🏞️
I recommend this festival we had a lot of fun!😄
