Venezia: the charming Italian city on the water

Hello people!

There are places that fascinate us, that make us dream, and that remain in our hearts like a beautiful memory. We visited this time, or again, one of the most iconic and romantic Italian cities, Venezia or Venice. It is really a famous and fascinating city.

Many wish to be able to go there, walk through narrow streets, sail glamorously through its canals and be enchanted by the wonderful and bucolic views from every corner. A magical city that remains on the water as if suspended in a spell that envelops everything in a special beauty.

In this city, everything is different. Cars become boats and taxis become gondolas, and we go from one place to another sailing between beautiful facades from another era and silhouettes of impressive buildings that we want to reach. A peculiar traffic that takes us from one great canal to another and to bucolic images of unparalleled beauty.

And without realizing it, we enter other smaller, narrower and winding canals, but also charming. An incredible experience. And then we can come out again to the Grand Canal, where there are more gondolas parked waiting for the next passenger who will fall in love with the city of love.

And we set foot on land, in the heart of Venice, St. Mark's Square. A rectangular porticoed square of exquisite beauty, which has endured through time and tourism, and thousands of pigeons.

In addition to St. Mark's Basilica, there is also the Palazzo del Duce, on the water's edge, a tall statue of the famous winged lion, symbol of the ancient Serenissima Republic of Venice, and which represents the power that this naval power had in the past. And what stands out most is the tower of St. Mark's, which can be seen from afar and now also from the famous square itself, always crowded with people, and sometimes with water, because with the "acqua alta", the high water as they say, the tide rises and temporarily floods the square. But Venice is always linked to the sea, in a unique way.

And from there we can go to any other place, cross again by boat to enjoy beautiful, romantic and special views. Or we can travel through more anonymous and silent canals while we walk carefully to know where we step.

We can also cross the famous Rialto Bridge to get the best view, with the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute in the background, an impressive large dome on the horizon. Meanwhile, the city follows its rhythm of gondolas and boats, surrounded by elegant buildings that still stand on wooden posts with dignity, with all the solemnity possible. And so Venice always gives us wonderful sensations and a magical, evocative and eternal skyline.

We leave this charming city for now, until we return again to more carefully enjoy the beautiful architecture it possesses... I visited Venezia a lot during one wonderful year, and it evokes great and nice memories, which undoubtedly made my life more beautiful. Hope you like it too.
