Bahía (II): Morro de São Paulo, on an island... in paradise?

Hello Pinmapple friends!

I've been to the beach, here, and then I've come back thinking about those other postcard beaches... and among them I remember those of Morro de São Paulo, in the Brazilian state of Bahía. And from Salvador da Bahía, it is very easy to reach this breathtaking natural environment.

My previous article in this community was precisely about Salvador da Bahía, a city that exudes Brazilian, African and European essence, and that amazes us with its rich historical and cultural heritage. A beauty different from the others. You can read it here: "Salvador da Bahia (I): essence and heritage of Brazil"

And from the port, near the Mercado Modelo, we can take a boat, a launch or a ferry. It depends on the options, but in about two and a half hours, we cross the immense Atlantic Ocean, and 60 km away we arrive in paradise.

We arrive at the island of Tinharé, one of the islands in the archipelago that make up the municipality of Cairú. Even before disembarking we already feel as if we were in another world, or as if we were witnesses or protagonists of some environment worthy of "pirates of the Caribbean", because it certainly seems that in a very short time we have travelled far away to those wonderful Caribbean islands. But we were still there in Brazil.

We continue admiring the luxuriance of the vegetation, among which we can see the lighthouse at the top of the island. As we walk along with other people who are also arriving in different boats with suitcases, we follow a path that takes us into a beautiful colorful town, houses that welcome us with many things to buy.

You have to go a little further without getting lost to find the hotel, there are many, many, all with a peculiar island charm, it could be a themed environment.

And little by little it gets dark, and we find ourselves with another image of a dream. A spectacular coastline softly illuminated by some lights, the place seems even more magical. Am I dreaming?

We enjoy typical, fresh, tasty and colorful food, with a musical atmosphere. Because in this country you cannot miss music, nor dance. Later they inform us when walking through the streets of the festive options, of the discos that there are. More music, dancing and something to drink. The night offers us everything.

And the day too. Not only a beach, but also history, in its fort, its lighthouse, and in its lavishly decorated church, Nossa Senhora da Luz (1845). In addition to its own walls, where phrases of popular wisdom or of some inspired anonymous are left in view of many tourists who may not even understand them...

hitting does not educate
hitting only hurts
(hitting) hurts the present body
(hitting) hurts the soul forever

But let's go back to the beach, which attracts us so much, to the second one. Yes, there is first, second, third and fourth beach. A succession of incredible beaches, some more touristy and lively, others smaller and quieter, for everyone. A paradise multiplied by four.

All that remains is to enjoy, let yourself go and have fun, like these children who laugh happily perhaps without realizing that they are in a unique and privileged setting. You don't have to realize it, you just have to dive into crystal clear water, look around and feel the beauty of pure nature. It's a marvel. Nothing more is needed.

It would be necessary for time not to pass, for us to stay in an eternal moment, without thinking about our usual world again... but that did not happen. I remember that a local guy asked me if I would like to stay and live there... for two seconds I didn't even think, could that be possible?

Then I came back to reality. The dream in paradise ended, we had to go back, they started the motor of the boat and we sailed towards Salvador da Bahía again, and from there… we'll see. Perhaps another new wonderful unknown paradise is waiting for us somewhere in this beautiful world.

Thanks so much for reading. Have a beautiful and paradisiacal day!
