ENGLISH VERSION (click here!)

The residence of the writer Enrique Larreta is an imposing neocolonial style mansion

It is accessed through Juramento 2291. Right in the heart of the Belgrano neighborhood in the City of Buenos Aires.
Surrounded by noise, traffic and vehicles, its interior is calm, silent and dimly lit.

It was built in 1886 by the architect Ernest Bunge and bought a few years later by the family from Acapulco.

The property occupies 7,200 m², and the garden 6,500 m². In the past it occupied the entire block.

The museum has several permanent rooms, although there are also workshops and exhibitions that are constantly changing.

The amount of period furniture is immense. All of exquisite taste and in pristine condition. The wallpaper on the walls, the curtains, paintings, and different ornaments on the walls. There are also altars and a small chapel, libraries and desks. Wherever you look there is some interesting detail!

The patio is huge and full of sun. Meticulously pruned and maintained, it is a paradise full of life in the middle of the concrete jungle.

The garden is Andalusian style, full of native plants and a specimen of Gingko Biloba and a century-old Wisteria.
