The "Filas de la Guacamaya Municipal Park", located in Valencia (Carabobo, Venezuela), is the place where I usually make tours to capture photographs of plant and animal species. Although I predominantly do not follow trails for that purpose, the park has trails that make it possible to do tours for tourist purposes.
El "Parque Municipal Filas de la Guacamaya", ubicado en Valencia (Carabobo, Venezuela), es el sitio donde acostumbro hacer recorridos para la captura de fotografías de especies de plantas y animales. Aunque predominantemente no sigo senderos con ese propósito, el parque tiene senderos que permiten hacer recorridos con fines turísticos.
In this entry I show by means of photographs, the route that can be followed to get to the "Tres Cruces" monument, a monument that can be seen from any place in the center of Valencia.
En esta entrada muestro por medio de fotografías, la ruta que se puede seguir para llegar al monumento las "Tres Cruces", un monumento que se puede ver desde cualquier lugar en el centro de Valencia.
Initially you have to go to the main entrance of the "Zoo Acuarium of Valencia", I clarify that to make the tour you do not have to pay, you pay only to enter the Zoo Acuarium in a ticket office located in a second entrance after crossing the parking lot, which is located where there is a sign that reads "BIENVENIDOS".

When you cross the main entrance, turn left and you will see the trail. To give you an idea of the time, the walk to the monument, ascending without stopping, is approximately 20 minutes.
Al cruzar la entrada principal se gira hacia la izquierda y allí se verá el sendero. Para dar una idea del tiempo, el recorrido hasta el monumento, ascendiendo sin detenerse, es de aproximadamente 20 minutos.
When you have been ascending for about 2 or 3 minutes you will see many plants of Sansevieria trifasciata, also known as Dracaena trifasciata, and popularly as "mother-in-law's tongue". The plant looks like a sword, it is light green with mottling in the form of small transverse bands of darker green. When you see them you have to speed up your pace because very close and to the right, you will find inside the stem of a Bursera simaruba tree (popularly known as "gumbo-limbo"), a nest of stingless bees of the genus Trigona. These bees attack to defend their nest, they do so by biting and when they do so they prefer to die rather than detach themselves; they attack mainly on the hair.
Cuando se ha ascendido alrededor de 2 o 3 minutos se verán muchas plantas de Sansevieria trifasciata, también conocida como Dracaena trifasciata, y popularmente como "lengua de suegra". La planta parece una espada, es de color verde claro con moteados en forma de pequeñas bandas transversales de color verde más oscuro. Al verlas hay que acelerar el paso porque muy cerca y a la derecha, se encuentra dentro del tallo de un árbol de Bursera simaruba (popularmente conocido como "palo mulato"), un nido de abejas sin aguijón del género Trigona. Esas abejas atacan para defender su nido, lo hacen mordiendo y cuando lo hacen prefieren morir que desprenderse; atacan principalmente en el cabello.
On the ascent it is common to come across some plants of the Bromeliaceae family, also with sword-shaped leaves.

The trail on the ground has many roots and stones on which one can slip and fall. In the rainy season, some places are very wooded.

There comes a moment when you begin to see part of the top of the mountain, and then you reach a clearing on part of the top that is extensive.

What is most abundant in that clearing at the top are butterflies. On one occasion while walking the trail in the clearing I found three species, which I show in the following photographs.

The trail to the monument is shorter and sometimes you have to climb on small rocks.

Upon arrival, the monument can be seen from behind.
Al llegar, se aprecia el monumento por detrás.
It would not be unusual to find on rocks lizards of the genus Tropidurus, such as the species Tropidurus hispidus.
No sería raro encontrar sobre rocas lagartijas del género Tropidurus, como la especie Tropidurus hispidus.
The front view of the monument is as follows. In addition to the three crosses, the monument has compartments that were formerly used to place candles in a traditional religious tour known as "El Calvario".

Once, on another tour, I found the remains of an eggshell and a feather inside a hole in a large rock, because they usually nest in cavities.

Next, I show a sequence of photographs to appreciate how the city of Valencia is seen from the "Tres Cruces" monument. The order of the sequence is from the northeast to approximately the south-southeast of the city.
