Not one day passes without temptation. These bodies and hearts will lead us into all manner of behaviors that are not always good behaviors to do.
Whenever I'm a little low or stressed, I want a Pepsi. Soda isn't a good choice, so I don't stock it in the home. The closest store is a heartbeat away, a five-minute drive, or a fifteen-minute walk. if I want a Pepsi I have to go get it or ask for someone to stop at a store and bring one.
Instant gratification is what our bodies seek. It's unnatural to deny ourselves pleasure.
Work or sleep?
Exercise or relax?
Learn or play?
Spend money or save money?
I admit it. I'd be perfect "without temptation". I would save my money and be fit, I'd have perfect teeth and all of my work would be completed in my inbox.
My house would be super clean if it weren't for temptation. Instead of reading, writing, or drawing I'd have a spotless home.
But...
There will always be a temptation. With those tailor-made temptations, there has to be a choice. Do I choose the high road or the low road?
Success in any field or pursuit is prefaced by resistance to temptation and active discipline.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
