Day 1956: 5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: chain link fence

Ade is a man in his mid 30s who lives in a house with his little niece as a way of supporting his sister. As a child Ella loved her house mostly the chain link fence attached to the main building because of the house pet.

Ella got a new playing place as she climbed the chain link fence viewing the outside of the thick forest beside it. Most importantly making her feel herself as a strong and little heroine.

Her Uncle who saw the way Ella climbs the chain link fence became concern of her safety as she is still very little and might fall off.

One day, after Ella left for school. He took a cutter and began to cut through all the links. When he finished, he was happy because Ella won't make his heart skip again. But just when he felt he had done the wisest thing, he cited Ella's dog wagging its tail towards the direction of the damaged fence and that was when he realized he had done something foolish.

That was when he remembered that the fence was there for the safety of the dog. Just when he was about to repair it, Ella walked in with her school bag.

"Uncle, what happened to the fence ?" She asked curiously.

"It's nothing, I will fixed it right away." He said.

Just then, the dog sensed Ella's presence and ran towards her and the dog, seeing that the only fence that made it feel trapped had been damaged, ran off the compound and made its way into the forest. Ella ran after it calling it by its name.

Her uncle ran after Ella as they both ran after the dog. They were able to call the dog back to the house. By the time her uncle finished repairing the chain link fence, he called Ella and explained to her it's due to her safety that led him into destroying the chain link fence at first and told her politely never to climb the fence again. She felt so remorseful and apologized to her uncle never to climb it again.
