Planning for a weekend get away with friends was somehow a challenge considering everyone's availability. YET having an instant date was somehow better.

A friend of mine, Ms. Mhel, who was also my office mate, asked me if I wanted to go with her to visit the summer capital of the Philippines " Baguio". It was summer time so I immediately agreed only to be surprised that it would be in incoming weekend. Saturday morning and it was Monday afternoon when she told me. I had no choice as I already said YES.I just prepared myself for the weekend trip.

Since it was Ms. Mhel who planned, she was the one who processed our travel requirements as well as booking Bus tickets and transients.

We boarded the 1st bus trip on Saturday morning to avoid congested roads. Yet, we arrived at Baguio late than our estimated time of arrival.
The first that we visited was "Baguio Botanical Garden". From the word Botanical as expected what can be seen here are different kinds of plants. Not only the flowering types.

Not only that, this is where you will have a chance to wear the radiational Igorot costume.

If you feel that you are starving after taking a walk at the park, you can have your lunch at " The Good Taste" restaurant. It is just a few minutes away. I can guarantee that foods are appetizing but come at an affordable price.

We also didn't leave our trip to visit the new tourist attraction in Baguio which is the " Igorot stone Kingdom". The construction was still ongoing but you can already see how beautiful it is. Though I would suggest that the ideal time to visit is early in the morning or late in the afternoon. You will enjoy the sunset or sunrise at the deck view. Not to mention it is an open area and it would require a lot of walking.

For those who grew up in the city and wanted to feel the countryside. Just near the Igorot Stone Kingdom you may drop by at " Tam-awan Village". Just a few walks away. There is also a local restaurant that serves meals along with a native coffee.

If you want to buy some souvenirs and at the same time relax you can visit Mines View. Just on the other side of the road there are several souvenir shops.
Just like Botanical it is also a park but this time there are a lot of merchandise. From foods, variety of plants and even got a chance to ride in a horse for only $1. Just don't expect you'll have a walk though.

And of course the trip wouldn't be complete without the signature Strawberry taho.

Before we went home, we passed by Kennon road and saw beautiful graffiti. The road was closed for vehicles to give way to all participants as well as the cost player. You can take pictures with them and it's your choice to drop some penny on their tip box.

As much as I wanted to stay to join, we couldn't at that time as we needed to catch a ride going back to Manila. We chose the last trip.
It was only a two days one night stay but we explored several places in Baguio. The trip might be unplanned as we only decided that week , yet we enjoyed it.
Well, better not to plan sometimes. Some of your friends might just end up still unavailable.

How about you? Do you love planning a trip? Or just have it unplanned?
