Thanks to this post of @marc-allaria I found the community of “360 Tiny Planet”, dedicated to panoramic photography in the format known as “tiny planet”. This format is obtained by transforming the rectangular image into a circular one by gluing the vertical borders and collapsing one of the horizontal borders.
The images in this post shows the view from the famous “cerro Monserrate” (Monserrate hill) in Bogotá (Colombia). The main point of the image is the “Cerro de Guadalupe”, where there is a monument dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe.
The image in which I based this composition was obtained by stitching 4 photos (taken with a Sony DSC-R1) in Hugin and later I transform it in Gimp. I show two different crops of the resulting image.
Gracias a este post de @marc-allaria descubrí la comunidad de “360 Tiny Planet,” dedicada a fotografías panorámicas en el formato conocido como tiny planet, el cual consiste en transformar el formato rectangular de la imagen en una circunferencia mediante una función matemática que junta los extremos verticales y colapsa uno de los extremos horizontales.
La imagen que muestro es la vista desde el famoso Cerro de Monserrate en Bogotá. La imagen resultante tiene como punto central el cerro de Guadalupe donde está el monumento a la virgen homónima.
La imagen en la que me basé la obtuve pegando 4 fotografías (tomadas con una Sony DSC-R1) en Hugin y luego transforme esta en Gimp, para obtener el “tiny planet effect”. Muestro dos diferentes recortes de la imagen obtenida.
