Good morning! It's the last day of the month and I hope everyone is doing well. For today's fan art, I am going to share another Tomoya Kanki drawing because one of his birthday photos is too cute that an idea suddenly flashed in my head. I was quite laughing while thinking of it. (Sorry, Tomoya!)
Tomoya Kanki or "Tomo" is a 33-year old drummer of the Japanese rock band, ONE OK ROCK. He was a drum teacher before getting recruited to the band. Tomoya is the band's second drummer and surprisingly, the first drummer's name is also Tomo.
Tomoya is known for having a jolly personality that he is often mistaken as the youngest member of the band even though being the eldest. He has a deep passion for food. (His Instagram posts is 60% band, 40% food.) He likes yakiniku (grilled meat) a lot. Recently while in quarantine, he also found passion for coffee. Aside from that, he tends to watch anime/movies and read manga and other books during rest days. Tomoya also never forgets to visit Tokyo Disneyland every year when they have longer vacation. Now that he has two sons, there is a more valid reason going to the theme park while proudly wearing a Donald Duck headband. Lol!
Now that you know some details about Tomoya, let's proceed to my drawing!
Please help Tomoya float higher by scrolling up!!!
And while doing it, let's make it more fun by saying the words, "UP UP AND AWAY!!!"
Oh wow, good job!!! 😂
(Let us wish Tomoya would land safe somewhere! Haha!)
I made the drawing a little bit fast but I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out. I just made a few additions awhile ago like adding clouds and some sparkles at the balloon.
The little character on the yellow text bubble is read as "eh!" It's a Japanese expression when you are surprised. It could mean like, "what!"
Here is the photo where I got the inspiration from! (Photo is from Tomoya's Instagram post.)
Look at that cute birthday set up! Who would've have thought it was a grown up man celebrating his birthday! If it wasn't for the number balloons, people will think it was his son's birthday. Haha!
Here are my WIPs for this drawing:
I initially sketched Tomoya looking up towards the balloon but I think it's more hilarious if he was looking on the ground. 😂
And here's another video of Tomoya playing drums! Enjoy!
