Good afternoon dear Hive community!

Today we want to share with you our interesting and wonderful walk we had in the outskirts of Pokhara.

To reach the famous Begnas lake, we needed to take the small motorbike we have rented. The road was surprisingly not so chaotic, only full of buses, motorbikes and cars. Only there and now you can see some people crossing or maybe if you are lucky a dog or cow comes into the game.

This time we said that we will finally cook outdoors, however in the end we prepared a tasty dinner at home. We were late and here the days are very short.

So, to continue with the walk, we started when we reached the lake itself. Begnas lake is with it’s 49 square meters the third biggest lake in Nepal! The area is populated mainly by fishermen families. It was nice to observe how they are floating on special boats trying to catch some food. This area is not so visited by foreigners, we only saw a small group of people which went swimming into the lake.

We followed the road next to the lake and reached to a quite different place. It was full of colors and paintings. You could hear already from far away the quality beats, which only elevated the good vibes. We approached and discovered a really super bar which offers a variety of things and also food. The owner was cool and told us that besides that here is a guest house where many travelers come. The area is amazing and peaceful. On top of that you can enjoy your drinks or meal on the rooftop with amazing 360 view on the lake and nearby area.

The owner called Sanu showed us a way we can go forward. It went through fisherman’s homes and into the jungle. There we saw many interesting trees and flowers. If you were attentive enough you could see even hidden mushrooms and some insects. The only sound we heard was from them and from the birds. We were looking forward to spot some parrots or even monkeys.

Since it was already quite late and we were not prepared for that wearing only flip flops, we headed back to the bar. Sanu offered us a beer and told us a lot about the area and said that he also owns a camping place on the other side of the lake.
